tony_ack 0 Posted July 21, 2019 Here's a new one... Tried to start the car after a few months, it fired up and died... argh... the dreaded immobiliser! I took the connectors out of the box under the dash, cleaned them up, reinserted them... no difference. I got it onto Vagcom, and got the fault code 'Low Key Signal'. I tried the spare key, and it fired up first time... Are the keys actively powered? If not, why has the main key suddenly stopped working?
dr_mat 0 Posted July 23, 2019 No they are passive, just RFID tags essentially, but you could have a bad contact in it.
fla 9 Posted July 24, 2019 Is yours a CP ecu? If so might be best to have it deleted from the ecu and just use a good aftermarket immobiliser. If it helps I've got a spare halo ring and immob unit. Or an immob bypass chip if you need. Would be in about 2 weeks though
dr_mat 0 Posted July 24, 2019 I would say there's nothing wrong with the core ECU immobiliser. And who steals Corrados any more? No one even knows what they are.
Keyo 47 Posted July 24, 2019 I would say there's nothing wrong with the core ECU immobiliser. And who steals Corrados any more? No one even knows what they are. You need an immobiliser in the UK the parts are worth a lot of money from a Corrado. I had a Mk2 golf 16v pinched in minutes. Toad Ai606 is what most folk in the VW classic world seem to go for , it even says on their website your car will not get stolen lol.
