Keyo 47 Posted May 3, 2022 Did you have to bleed the system or anything fitting that - mine will be both original in mine - you reckon the leaking pipe goosed your old gear box ?
Keyo 47 Posted May 3, 2022 (edited) Its missing the spiral section- does that matter. I know I can buy this upto chassis 50-N-035 000 * Goodridge stainless - https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/357721465a-goodridge-stainless-steel-braided-hydraulic-master-cylinder-hose.html Edited May 3, 2022 by Keyo
1xshaunx1 27 Posted May 3, 2022 Peddle is a lot better, it was bulging in one area and the sheathing was split at the top end furthest away from the the slave. No nothing to do with gearbox failure that was too much turbo boost and too much grip combined with very rapid clutch drop, all me I’m afraid. I couldn’t see the point in putting it back on the road without sorting that line out, as it was a lot easier to install and bleed with eveything else out of the way. But tbh bleeding was pretty easy. Few pumps on the slave and then the master, 1/2 bottle of fluid and a mate in the car for 10 mins. It’s still fairly easy with the rad and stuff there to bleed, but I had a choice so I waited until I sourced the line. Then put it all back together. one thing that is a lot better is the gear shift, 1st to 2nd and reverse, I spent a bit of time altering where the shift cables go onto the selectors as there is adjustment on the m10 bolts. It was left to tight that needed altering on mine, it’s 10 times better now, I used to have to be careful selecting reverse to avoid gear crunch but miles better now

To be honest Keyo I was sick of mail ordering crap that didn’t fit, spent nearly £100 on stuff that’s no good. It was refreshing to walk out 10 mins after I walked in with the correct part and having not wasted 2 weeks or any more money.

Yes totally makes sense- it might be confusing as etka does not make sense- can anyone make head to tail of this. No 30 on diagram but what about after chassis N 035000 - the goodridge say for a g60 but etka does not define by model just chassis number. Can anyone notice any difference first picture g60 which is goodridge link on etka 357721465a and second vr which etka does not even show a part number - I have a feeling they are the same - late and early for rhd. 1xshaunx1 27 Posted May 3, 2022 I think they are the same, but until you take off and compare you won’t know for sure. you seem to be missing a gearbox bracket on the VR, comes from the gearbox mount towards the front of the car, onto the box ? They dont come on 95 cars from factory cutbacks ha . Do you have to bleed anything after ? top up fluid ?

I mentioned above, borrow a mate or wife to push the peddle fo 10 mins, don’t have to hard as it’s a clutch. Bleed the slave then the master, 1/2 bottle of dot 4, tops. 1xshaunx1 27 Posted August 14, 2022 So been thinking of a front brake upgrade for quite sometime, because mine being 30 years old needs an overhaul and I’d rather put the money to an upgrade. So took the plunge and eventually they arrived and I fitted them. Not before time going on what I took off. I cut the big round washer off to use with the new braided lines and here’s what lurked beneath. but they looked alright
1xshaunx1 27 Posted August 14, 2022 This is what I went for really easy to swap over and much better, but not as neck snapping as I thought, the Brembo discs and ferodo pad combo on my old standard set up was very good though and still a bit more of bedding in to do on the new set up and maybe a full bleed too. That photo doesn’t do justice to the look of the thing though, it looks awesome but not be getting my 15” speedines on any more.
Cressa 44 Posted August 14, 2022 Ooooo now they doooo look very nice and necessary with how ridiculously quick your car is. 🙈😂 I take it you sorted out the transmission side of things..

1xshaunx1 27 Posted August 14, 2022 320 I bet. You’d need new bracket and discs
1xshaunx1 27 Posted August 14, 2022 I’ve also got to check I’ve got the right disc on the right side. Having looked at the photos they look like they are side specific as the grooves are going different ways 🤔
