Does anyone else think that all this "look what I beat in my C" and "could my car beat his car?"is just a wee bit childish?

Maybe in future people could just pull over to the side of the road, drop their trousers and compare? That's certainly what it smacks of...

 

Absolutely, when I first got the rado I was working at a large depot and people kept saying to me "Why to you pay so much insurance on that, you could get cheaper insurance on a cav 4x4 or an escort rs turbo and it'd be quicker"

 

And I was like...A bloody Cav?! An escort?!

 

I don't care if they could be quikcer or whatever, a Corrado is soo much cooler than them.

 

And used to have 2 people there who was saying "Ooh I'll beat you in a race"

 

Funny thing is, they were both over 30 years old!

I've had a lot of fun playing with scoobies (305bhp sti wrx), low down I'm killed and made to look a fool till I catch up (that really p*sses them off) till they reach 150ish and wave goodbye again :lol: I'm not saying they are crap cars, just not as good as everyone imagines. Only thing is they are quick for a std car and can be tuned with ease compared to the corrado.

I've played with a few...

 

managed to keep up with one (I assume the 221bhp version) before i had my front mount intercooler fitted - so maybe could have even nosed ahead once this was done... only a short race though, in a straight line and a rolling start

 

In the wet around a long bend I got apsolutely destroyed by another one! I was doing about 80mph round this bend, thinking i was going too fast it was all going to go horribly wrong, when the scooby just flew past me on the outside, doing about 100mph! By the time we got onto the straight bit of road, he was about 10 cars ahead of me - figured he'd pretty much 'shown' me at that point, so didn't bother trying to catch up. Not sure what power that one was, but probably the same 221bhp as before... and much bigger balls than me! :?
