LicklePaulie 0 Posted September 5, 2004 I know it's a long shot but can anybody identify the part in these pics? I would like to know why it decided to detonate from somewhere beneath my bonnet and deposit itself all over the floor when I tried to start up my VR this morning - As you can see, I have glued the larger pieces back together to give a better idea of what the whole piece looked like. Coincidentally it also blew the 15A fuse in the farthest right-hand dock of the interior fusebox. The car will now turn over and fire but will not continue running once the start button is released. I reckon damper is not numbered and is just to right of "no10" and under "EU" of NEUSPEED. Earlier on the forum someone told me it can explode - I wasnt sure if we were both talking about the same component, but I am convinced now after seeing LicklePaulie's doobrie in pieces! LicklePaulie 0 Posted September 6, 2004 Just a quick note to thank each of you for your advice. You were quite right in your diagnosis, not an easy task when I saw what the original looks like! After digging around to find an emergency replacement this morning (why is it that anything you NEED from the stealers HAS to be put on back order from Germany whilst the bits and pieces you would LIKE can be delivered next day?) all is now well again.
