    My VR6

    Bmw was sold last sunday, first person to view it from pistonheads brought it so well happy. Put a deposit on this today, subject to an inspection. 2005/54reg with 12k and 1 owner in his fifty's,so should be ok fingers crossed. Been thinking of selling the Corrado or possibly taking it off the road for the time being. Everytime i sell one i regret it and end up buying another, on the other hand don't want to leave it sat on the drive. Have just spent alot of time and money on it doing disks, pads, calipers, bearings, wishbones, shocks and springs. Heads telling me to sell.
  3. Have just sold my other car which has a private plate, the lady I have sold it to also has a plate she wants to put on the car. What is the simplest way to do this? Don’t want to have to send the log book off to get original reg put on, then again for change of owner and again for her plate. Anyone been in a similar situation? Probably put my plate on retention, rather than on the corrado.

    Can anyone recommend a valeting service in the nottingham area, preferably a mobile one.
  5. Hi Just wondered if anyone can help?? I Have a 1996 Golf 2.8 VR6 which when being started for the first time turns over and over for approx 15 seconds before starting, once the car has been started once if i turn the car off and try to start it again the car starts immeadiately. The car will then continue to start first time every time until the car is left for more than approximately 15-20 minutes, after this period the car then for the first time takes again 15-20 seconds to start and the scenario continues??. I have tried numerous things to try and rectify this such as Replaced fuel pump and had check valve on fuel pump checked, Had fuel system pressure checked, Had Pressure valve on fuel rail replaced, New fuel filter, New coil pack, Had ECU checked which is showing no faults. Any Idea's on how to rectify this would be Much Appreciated..

    Brakes

    Ok, replaced my front disks, pads and calipers in the last couple of weeks. After doing so a fault has accured, when cold the car appears to brake its self lightly. After a couple of minutes the ABS comes on and all is fine, can drive for hundreds of miles with no problems. Come to the car next morning, no ABS light and it's doing it again. Two minutes down the road ABS light comes on, and everything fine. Strange one i know, anyone got any ideas please.

    Alloys fitted yesterday, doesn't look that low. But im happy with it, no chance of the rears rubbing which was the worry. Had new wishbones fitted and an oil service as well, decided to do air filter and plugs myself. Plastic HT lead tool broke on first one, so ordered a metal one from zerocool. Couple of the alloys are kerbed, so will wet&dry them as and when.

    Not the best picture, but here she is dropped 40mm. No longer being used daily, so can begin to get it looking how i want for the summer. Off the road at the moment as i think a wheel bearing is on it's way out. Got hold of some H&R springs as well, so these will go on when the bearings done. Next will be the RH alloys from my old C and possible some red rear lights.

    Brought a set of H&R spring for my VR6, understand i may have to replace the spring cups at the front to fit these's. Have done a search but not found a clear answer, my car is a 95M reg. Is this so and does anyone have a part number, or the year of car i need them off.

    Car's been called into daily service as of two weeks ago. Been gettitng between 33-36MPG for the 80 mile round trip, all A roads which isn't bad. Not what i had planned for it, but needs must. Car was tested on friday and failed on brake pipes and rear shocks and springs. Due to the timing am going to have it lowered by 40mm by some springs and see how i go.

    The colour is twilight violet, don't normally travel far to view cars but not seen this colour before in the flesh. Also it was registered to VW(UK) for the first ten months of it's life, then one owner for the last 11 years. Sold the golf to a chap off Edition38, so it's gone to a good home. But spent the money on a hardtop for the BMW, so lowering the corrado will have to wait.

    Sorry billcor, you've lost me. Whats autosil & peek, is there a thread showing how to do this. James, car looks the part. What grades did you start and finish with.

    Arcing

    When my vr6 is started from cold one of the ht leads arc's against the block, it does this until it is warm then runs fine. While warming up the tickover is lumpy because of this, or if you drive while cold. I assume the leads are passed there sell by date and need replacing, is this the case.
  24. Second picture Rado.001 posted is my old car with AG cup's, similiar to ZW1,s but not split rims. Hence alot cheaper, i'd go for BBS RC's now.
