  1. I'll probably pop to the show and shine for a look, haven't bothered for the last few years even though its only 3miles from my house, but I've noticed that they've changed the location of it this year to the fields opposite Morrisons which should be MUCH better with loads more room.

  2. T4's are the best all rounders for family life IMO, I had mine sold within 2 days of advertising it recently, took a deposit and went and test drove a few estates that I'd fancied (including the B5 S4), none of them came close to my tuned 2.5tdi T4, the possibilities are endless with them and when I actually thought about all the different uses it has from daytrips to tip runs to carrying kayaks/bikes etc etc I realised i'd regret selling it so I returned the deposit and i'm keeping it! definitely worth considering for a family wagon :)

    Couple of pics to tempt you :)

  3. Agree with the above, over the years I've had 3 8v's, brilliant engines and they suit the rado well, they're certainly not quick but if you want a street racer you won't be considering a 115bhp car. As said, MPG is fantastic, they're very reliable, cheap to fix, easy to get parts for, nice amount of torque low down (which suits my driving style) - all in a great car, I personally wouldn't even consider owning another 16v, the 8v is a MUCH better car.

  4. From memory I think a new system from VW is around £800 - i've had a few custom made exhausts on various rados and have never had a problem, they usually cost around £350 depending on where you have them done, worth doing your research though as I think it's a case of it's only gonna be as good as the person that fits it.

  5. A few years ago I was really wanting one of these! Didn't realise the price had dropped so much! Maybe time to get saving!

    Yeah I really fancied one a few years back when they were fetching a lot of money but never bothered looking as I couldn't afford one (i'm bloody glad too having seen how much they've depreciated!) I couldn't believe how cheap they are now when I started looking recently, but when I had a look around one and a drive it just didn't 'grab' me like I would want it to so there ends the dream! :lol: - If I'm honest I'm gutted I can't convince my wife to get rid of the Corrado to buy a TT or Boxster instead :camp:

    Coullstar I'm looking at B5 S4's, can't afford the B6 as lovely as they are! and yeah I realise it's not a sports car, it's an estate! :lol: - but having just sold my T4 I think it might be more sensible to have something with a bit more room rather than a coupe so an S4 could be a good all round compromise, haven't found one worth looking at yet though!

  6. When you have a look around at what type of car is available for £5k it's surprising that ANY Corrado is sold at that sort of price, if I'm honest. It sounds like a nice car etc and I would say that £3.5k would be a good price to pitch at :)

  7. I was talking about the interior when I said 'it felt like a Jap coupe', I should have made that clearer :) - the drive was very nice from the few miles I did in it but as I said before I'm looking for an all round package and it just wasn't making me want to spend £7k on it! , I'm looking at S4's now :lol:

  8. It won't be replacing the rado as I can't convince MrsW to get rid of it! she wouldn't rather a boxter, TT, or SLK, nothing! She's determined to keep it, so it'll stay. However I'm after something that's a bit of fun so maybe I'll go for a testdrive in a 350Z to see how they feel.

    I too am amazed at the price of these. Since my VR was written off I've been looking at these and R32's. Been on the Z350 owners web site there is a write up about the main common problems. There really aint too much that goes wrong with them. The drive shafts get noisey and if you pick up the GT spec make sure the BOSE cd player dosn't skip thats a common problem. The early models come with a "poorer" interior . I'm sure there's more it was a few weeks ago when I looked.

    Cheers for that :)

  9. Anyone driven or owned one of these? i'm looking for something for around £7k-£8k and am surprised to see that these are available with as little as 35k miles for around the £7k mark so Im interested to know what they're like, common problems, running costs etc - how come they're so cheap! I've always liked the look of them since they came out and they have that certain Corrado type appeal which is difficult to find in another car IMO, so anyone got any info on them?

  10. Yeah the wiring is a bit sketchy in there, the lady I bought the car from had a son who was a fitter in the local Porsche dealer, he had done most of the work on the car in the last 5 years or so since he'd left school and started his apprentiship , including fitting the clutch - so my feeling is that he cocked up the fitting somehow! I think a new clutch and flywheel is in order!

  11. EDIT - i'll go take a pic

    There does seem to be a bit of oil around the slave and on top of the gearbox, although the levels are fine and the problems existed the whole time we've had the car?

    Here's a pic;

    And a couple of the car for good measure, yes it's bog standard with 4x4 ride height, and it's staying like that because it drives and handles bloody beautifully! :tongue:
