  1. Ive gotta agree that the VW autos are miles behind other boxes of the same era, I drove autos for 7 years as a cabby (mainly Vauxhall) so i'm certainly not against them, I just think the boxes in rados (and other 90's VWS) are shockingly bad, I'd steer clear and go for a manual.

  2. I remember the fella that had that, it used to be parked up in quintrell downs alot, can't remember his name, must be on big miles by now as I remember it had done a few back then (probably 5-6 years ago)

Anyway, I'm over in Holywell bay, don't drive the rado much as it's my missus' but you may see her around, it's a black n reg.

  3. I cant say I'm surprised, and as much as I've said for years now that their customer service was appalling and selective, it's a huge shame to hear that they've gone under, loosing a business takes a huge toll on a personal level and lots of people will have lost out, not least whatever staff were there :(

I think the point at which they went from being forced induction/tuning specialists to being scene queens was the start of the downfall, years ago the business thrived from good will and quality workmanship rather than leading trends and supplying the lastest fads,'and as quick as the Internet/forums/social networks can build businesses they can break them too.

Best of luck to them and anyone who's currently out of pocket etc

  4. I've got one mate, I'll see if I can find it and get back you.

Oops, posted at the same time as kip! At least it saves me having to rummage around in the garage!

  5. As others have said, with a vr6 I'd probably stick with a 6cyl - however having driven a 1.8t rado run in around 280bhp I'd certainly recommend it to those with 4pots, the one I drove was an animal but also drove like a standard car when not ragging it! I must admit I'm tempted to have one fitted as and when I run into problems with mrs W's 8v.

  6. On the contrary I broke down in France (Reims) in a corrado years ago and had a recovery truck out to me in less than 10mins! I was surprised to say the least! I was with green flag and as far as I can remember the extra cover cost me something like £40, I was towed all the way back to Cardiff (600miles) so you can safely say I got my money's worth :D

  7. Yeah they're all pretty close to each other price wise but even at 1p cheaper a litre it adds up at 1500ltrs so worth ringing around, that's why I bought such a bloody big tank! It gives you bargaining power and you can fill up once a year while its at its cheapest.

This time last year I filled it (2200 ltrs) at 41p per litre! It's now around 57p a ltr so I'll see what I can do :/
