However I noticed that on the way back the temperatures were steady a good 10 C lower than on the way there, despite it being hotter outside.... until I turned my lights on, and then the oil temp went up 10 C :?: Turn the lights off, and it dropped back down... Is it just me, or does this seem a bit odd :|

vr6storm, Nice to know Norwich Union Directs 'approved' bodyshops were doing their best to match the original standard with their attempts at my repairs then. I always understood the original paint was a good job, with well built up layer?

must have had an ex-Karmann employee there then.............IIRC the paint on new Corrado's was always noted for the orange-peel effect

I think we are talking @ cross purposes. On the actual bodywork, the big lump of metal where the top mount sticks through. It is as though it has been shrink wrapped. Like when you get a new stereo and it has that protective stuff that you tear of the display. with me?

is it a kinda yellow-ish looking stuff????........if it is then its the engine bay protective wax coating

Ok cool, will do. I'm gonna go over it all with a magnifying glass before I cough up the excess, but specific points to look for are always good.

quite ironic how Karmann weren't so intensive with their quality control when the C was in production :D ......seemingly the Corrado was one of the worst painted VW products of the time

Does anyone know if the 1.8 16v's and G60's were availiable in post facelift? I finally had a chance to have a good look at Corrado dashes at E38 today and I prefer the softer look of the later dash 8)

some early 2.0 16v and VR6 models also have the earlier(mk2 Golf-style) heater controls too

dunno, I know that the basic design is identical, but I think that the way that it's mounted may be inverted, so the butterfly opens up the other way around (cable pulls from the opposite side) on the Porsche version... maybe someone here with a Porsche 924/944 can give us a clue by posting a pic of their throttle body... (Hints at Rodders... ;) )

i just knew of the modded TB for the audi/VW engined(K-jet fuel-inj) 924/924lux...............AFAIK the TB for the Porsche-engined(DmE fuel-inj) 924S/944 are different from this
