I've tried this. The issues were getting the wheel holes bored to 14mm, and then the front calipers rubbed on the spokes. I havent tried w/ the new DE calipers. I was running large amounts of spacing up front and still rubbing, despite fender rolling.

I was hoping to avoid this yesterday. I jacked the car up and noticed the bolt resting against the sump! Was able to bolt it back down, hope it stays in place...
-
it wont hurt, but it seems to not be needed. My head seems to be just fine 2 years after, never retorqued..

you might not want to use the mkiv hg, it raises compression slightly. Running the charger, you could ping during warm weather.

ISV problem - Now just a stalling in general problem!

I had mine stall at a bridge exit on sunday. The car refused to turn over for well over a minute. Neither me, nor the drivers behind me were pleased.. -
I take offence to the uglified bit. :D A golf is not at all sexy!

Cheesewire may be the only person on Earth that doesnt like the Schricks. I have been in a car with them and the powerband is completely different from stock. With a VGI, they are utterly sick. They are the original grind that preserves low end torque and extend the powerband. Any car that can run low 14 second 1/4 miles or better yet 12's in the case of Anthony Dowd's lightened ITB equipped car, shows what you can do with those cams. If you had issues w/ them, I suspect compression or sensor issues. The fastest all motor vr's are all running them. VW owners are nothing if not frugal, so if they werent worth the quid, they wouldnt be so popular.

DRC cams are the biz. He has done a few grinds for Porsches and VW's. If I knew about him years ago, I'd have them instead of CATs. Very good deal for the UK massive w/ the exchange being 2:1 He has also done the first true mkiv vr6 cams that have runner compensation built into the grinds.

Stainless steel VR6 6-2-1 exhaust manifold - whats the best?
vdubjb replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Engine Bay
Amazing that you lot love those things. Every drag racer that has tried them has gone faster on stock ported manifolds.. -
Extra weight, and on a 4 lump, I cant imagine it sounding good.
-
I just use the dash's as tweeters, and the rears as well. I use the doors as mids.

I stayed all motor because I got a relative deal on my cylinder head and my cams were cheap. I'm making over 30hp more than stock and I am very happy. I dont race the car for money so it's enough to get me into trouble and out of traffic. Read the Ralph Gilles scan I posted. The most powerful all motor AAA/ABVvr6 in the states is making 225whp. Thats with individual throttle bodies and standalone management. Bildon is working on cracking the roadblock that is the cylinder head design.

I'd say the opposite. More vr6 all all motor tuning and racing going on in the states imho. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?i ... d=35078705

I have to run 7mm's to use the corrado basketweaves. I am sure my 17's will no longer fit.
