  1. Hi All! My Corrado has Weitec fully adjustable coilies fitted to it. I'm not too worried with adjust ing the height for the time being, but wanted to ask about the damping.... I've got the key to turn the hexagonal part on the top of the struts, but... 1) Which way is softer and which way is harder? 2) Is there a set number of turns they are to supposed to go from stiffest to softest? (From the brief play I've had with them almost seams like the go round and round) 3) Is there anything else I need to do apart from twist them, looks almost as if there's a grub screw on the hex bit (small hole on one of the faces) Had a quick play with them but didn't want to cause any damage by fiddling with them without knowing what I'm doing! Any help much appreciated! Cheers, Tom :)

    Engine weight

Don't know if this will help, but I guy from No-Rice weighed a 1.8 8v digi mk2 GTi engine, and the head came up as 15kg, and the block without all the ancilliaries was about 85kg, so about 100kg in all Can't be too different if you just talking head and block! Hope this helps! :)
  3. Ah ok cheers...so if I ran this in between the ISV and a breather (I.E. Boost Return Deletion Kit) It would be ok? :)
  4. Ok Cheers Guys! What does it do?? :?:
  5. Ok....I'm feeling like a proper newbie compared to knowing just about everything about my golf.....but what is this?? Went to fit a boost deletion kit to my corrado today and found this attached to the hose just after the ISV, doesnt look factory at all and has no VAG etc makings, the hose has been chopped to accomodate it... Was here (to right of mole grips... Its basically a cylindrical bit of metal with a ball bearing inside which can move up and down the length of it, but with a bar at one end to stop it coming out. Any ideas??? :?
  6. Right, you all get 10 brownie points! First Trick on the knowledge base with the seat belt on the handle worked a treat, was going to try that with soemone else pulling on it but I'm on my own at the minute! Thanks again! :)
  7. Cheers guys! I'll give those suggestoins a go! Not sure what I've done but I might have left something in there! :)
  8. Hi! My bonnet won't open, when you pull the catch only the passenger side pops up, drivers side doesnt budge! Its worked fine until this afternoon! I can't see a way to get inside and pop the catch...is there a way to do it?? Cheers, Tom
  9. Cheers guys! Think I'm gonna get the charger rebuilt for peace of mind...any reccomendations (Have heard very good things about G-Werks!) Got a couple of quick questions though... 1) My sunroof only tilts and doesnt't slide....is that a real pain in the arse to fix? 2) With the car unlocked, if you open any doors (also works if you press the little button in the door jam for the interior light etc) You can hear what sounds like the central locking pump make a noise... a) Is it supposed to do that b) If yes, what is it oding c) If not, why is is doing it?? Cheers! :)
  10. Haha, trade size, does the job! Looking through the old MOT's... Most recent one says car colour: Purple (which the V5 says) one before says black, and the one before says brown! Wheels are 17" Lenso RS5's!! :)
  11. Yeah I know! Previous owner was, shall we say, wolfsburg keen! :)
  12. Well after a couple of days of washing/claying/polishing/waxing and spending time on little things like door handles and touch up etc....here we are! Still a little way to go, and sorry the pictures aren't too good...but you get the idea! The colour's officially called Black Violet Pearl Metallic apparently, but I always thought it was called Dark Burgubdy Pearl. Got to admit I like the sound of Black Violet Pear! Looks fantastic in the sun, especially after a coat of Zymol! Only real changes I've made apart from a major wash clay wax etc is turning these.... Into what you see up there....they'll do until I can get some replacements!! Quite like the wheels too, not my choice but they will do for the moment (Lenso RS5's) 8)
  13. Hello Again guys! Well after much searching I bought a corrado Yesterday! Its a Dark Burgubdy Pearl G60! Hopefully picking it up later today so I'll get some pictures up asap! :)

  15. Yep! Someone once mentioned you might have to post a certain number of times?? Not sure though, might just be the stupidly overprotected PC I'm using!
  16. Hi... interesting...can you PM me some details? Cheers! One thing...why can't i see pictures...all I see is a box with the name of the pic etc...but no actual pic? Sure its been asked before, but spent some time searching and couldnt find anything....n00000000b! :D
  17. Ooops! I didn't take the picture though so I can share the dunce hat! :)
  18. Cheers Jim! Hope so! I know i'll be gutted so see it go, but hopefully it'll go to a good home and will be looked after by an enthusiast! :?
  19. Hi Bally...I've seen yours too....don't fancy a swap do you! Oh well! P.S. I don't know how much to ask for it yet, I hate to think how much I've spent on it (didn't keep a tally on purpose!), but I do know its better than 99% of mk2's going up for sale at the minute! Here's a couple of pics of the interior seeing as i forgot to put them into start! It heated too...which is nice in the winter! 8)
  20. Cheers for the welcome and the nice comments guys!! Yeah I'd love to keep it but I can't run two cars Plus I've wanted a corrado since I was about 10! Plans for the corrado, I'm hoping to buy a reasonably standard one, then keep it nice and subtle, drop it a bit (can't be too stiff/low for work!) nice subtle wheels and then some engine work to get her going a bit quicker! Here I am planning and havent even got the car yet! Always the way though! :)
  21. Hi All! Been browsing your site for a little while now, thought I'd better join up and say hello! My name's Tom, and this is my golf... Love it to pieces, but probably going to sell it at some point over the summer. :( All is not lost however, as the reason I'm selling it is that I'm on the lookout for a Corrado G60! On loads of other VW sites (Ed38, No-Rice, Dubcircle etc) recognise a few names and cars etc! Anyway...here's a few pics! Cheers! :)
