  3. VW Corrado VR6 in Bromberr Metallic with recent new engine Hi, It is with regret that I have to put my Corrado VR6 up for sale due to the purchase of a new house and a lack of time to enjoy it. I have owned it for just over a year and this has to be the best Corrado I have owned (have had 3 over the past few years) and mechanically, it wants for nothing! She is a 1994 on an ?L? plate and has completed 238k miles, will have no tax due to new tax rules and MOT until Dec 2015 (passed MOT with no advisories and praise from the tester on it being the tidiest Corrado he has seen). The colour is Bromberr Metallic (LK4Z). The car has had a lot of work carried out over the past few years and is mechanically very good. Points to note include a new engine fitted by Volkswagen in March 2006 (@ 167k miles) so only 70k miles ago, all new front end bushes and ball joints replaced last year including a new steering rack, new brake callipers, disks and pads all round including braided Goodridge lines and lots more. Due to maximum number of characters being exceeded, I can?t put a list of all the work on this advert but please have a look on Gumtree for a complete list - http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/vw-corrado-vr6-in-bromberr-metallic-with-recent-new-engine-g60-golf-29-volkswagen/1122092164 I have every receipt (a ring binder full of them) to confirm all of the work below has been carried out which shows how well it has been looked after. The grill has now been replaced with an original one with VW badge and the rear now has the chrome ?VR6? and colour coded ?Corrado? badges replaced. These pictures have been taken once the car has been stripped of all coatings and wax to show the true condition of the bodywork ? it polished up fantastic. Mechanically, there is slight play in the steering caused by a worn universal joint. A replacement part will be provided from a low mileage car and I will try to fit it prior to sale but can?t guarantee that I will have the time too. As you can see, the only part of the car that slightly lets it down is the condition of the bodywork. It has never been involved in an accident (HPI certificates with car) however, had a poor respray of the doors by a previous owner to remove the dings and scratches. They have painted up-to the seals etc rather than removing them so, unfortunately it?s not up to my standard when close up. The wing mirrors are suffering from lacquer peel so would benefit from a re-spray and there are a couple of small scuffs ? one on the front and one on the rear bumper. Lastly, there are 2 small areas of rust forming, one on the front wing and the other on the passenger door. From a distance, the car looks superb and you don?t notice the paint but I want to be as honest as possible. The only other bad point to note is the driver?s seat bolster has suffered wear and could do with replacing - only to be expected with a car of this age and miles. The rest of the interior, carpets etc are all spot on and clean up perfectly. I am probably making the car sound worse than it is but I like to be as honest as possible to save any disappointment when viewing. The car is in Aberdeen however, I will be more than happy to collect anyone from Aberdeen airport or train station for viewings. I am looking for ?2,500 for the car which I feel it is worth due to the mechanical condition and work that has been completed of late. Please get in touch if you have any queries. 4. I have one from a 1994 VR6 - snapped cable but otherwise ok. Let me know if interested.
  5. Ideal thanks for all the help! I will check in the boot to see if there are any signs. Will see how I get on and may take you up on the offer...
  6. Hi All, Sorry for another water in the footwell post….I have had a good search and it doesn’t appear to be any of the usual suspects. The car had been sitting for about 6 weeks on a slight slope (back lower than the front) and when I returned to it, found some water in the driver’s side footwell. It appears as if it has run down the windscreen, into the bulkhead area where the picture is of below and then found its way into the cabin as the carpet below the pedals was damp too. All of the sunroof drains are clear, new door membranes etc so that rules the obvious things out. Question is – I can see one of the drains in the bulkhead (just below and to the left of the bonnet hinge in the picture below) but is there another one? If the car is on a slope, I can’t see where the water would drain out when it runs back the way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  7. Hi, The rear "Corrado" and "VR6" badges have been removed from my car sometime in the past and the holes for the "Corrado" one filled and painted. Would anyone be able to measure for me the position of the first hole so that I can re-drill them to re-fit new badges? Also, if you could measure the position of the "VR6" badge in relation to the "Corrado" badge it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  8. Corrado VR6 1994 Bromberr Metallic, Recent new engine Hi, It is with regret that I have to put my Corrado VR6 up for sale. This has to be the best Corrado I have owned (have had 3 over the past few years) and mechanically, it wants for nothing! She is a 1994 on an ?L? plate, has tax until end of May 2015 and MOT until Dec 2015 (passed MOT with no advisories and praise from the tester on it being the tidiest Corrado he has seen). The colour is the very rare Bromberr Metallic (LK4Z). The car has had a lot of work carried out over the past few years and is mechanically very very good. Points to note include a new engine fitted by Volkswagen in March 2006 (@ 167k miles) so only 70k miles ago, all new front end bushes and ball joints replaced last year including a new steering rack, new brake callipers, disks and pads all round inc braided Goodridge lines and lots more. On the next thread, is a summary of what has been done on the car due to the post exceeding the maximum characters. I have every receipt (a ring binder full of them) which shows how well it has been looked after. Below are some photos of the car as she stands. I have an original grill which will be fitted and a replacement rear ?VR6? badge (genuine chrome one). The wing mirror covers are going in for a paint to tidy them up due to lacquer peel also. These pictures have been taken once the car has been stripped of all coatings and wax to show the true condition of the bodywork. It polishes up great and I will have this done for the buyer prior to collection. As you can see, the only part of the car that slightly lets it down is the condition of the bodywork. It has never been involved in an accident (HPI certificates with car) however, has had a poor respray at some point in its life. They have painted up-to the seals etc rather than removing them so, unfortunately it?s not up to my standard when close up. From a distance, the car looks superb and you don?t notice the paint but I want to be as honest as possible. The only other bad point to note is the driver?s seat bolster has suffered wear and could do with replacing ? only to be expected with a car of this age and miles. The rest of the interior, carpets etc are all spot on and a full interior wet clean will be done prior to purchase. The car is in Aberdeen and I would be happy to take it to Glasgow too if there are any prospective purchasers. I will also be more than happy to collect anyone from Aberdeen airport or train station for viewings. I am looking for ?3,000 for the car which I feel it is worth due to the mechanical condition and work that has been completed of late. Please get in touch if you have any queries. 9. It is yes - I got one last week. Was £5 and part number is 191 819 166 Thanks, Andy
  10. Sunroof - late spec, 1994, LK4Z, snapped cable I have for sale a sunroof removed from my 1994 Corrado VR6. It has a snapped cable so won't slide. I replaced it with a moonroof so this is now spare. Complete with motor and painted in LK4Z. There is a scrape in the paint so it would benefit from a re-spray. Delivery included in price or collection welcome from Aberdeen / Glasgow. 11. I have a pair of Audi TT front seats that I am thinking of dropping into my Corrado. I see there is a guide on the wiki and have sent reaper1_3 a PM to ask for the plans but he hasn’t been online since 2010 so not sure he will get my PM haha. Does anyone else have them? The part he made up to mount them isn’t complicated so I don’t really need it but would be good to have for reference. Thanks, Andy
  12. Yup they are sold to Jamie pending collection :) Cheers
