  1. hmmm they seem to have fixed themselves! tried the switch for one final time today and it worked!
  2. nobody? :( i hope it doesnt rain!
  3. the switches are still lit up yeah. the alarm arms/disarms etc but the windows dont go up when you arm it, although this never worked when i got the car. the windows just used to do up a little bit when you armed the car, which i always thought was odd but sort of ignored cos it didnt really matter.
  4. hi all, a really odd thing happened just now. got in my car and tried to start it up but the starter motor died and the drivers side window went half up by itself (both windows were open). i then went to do the windows up and they dont work. when you press the button nothing happens, no noise of motors trying to work or anything. i have checked the fuses and they are fine. any ideas? i have a clifford total closure alarm, could this be affecting it? need help asap as obviously my car is at risk with its windows open and i park it on the road :? im also going away for a week tomorrow so dont know what the hell to do  cheers guys

  7. hi guys sorry if this has been covered before, but i couldnt find anything on the search :? on the way to work today my steering started going crazy. every time i touched the accelerator the steering wheel started juddering, and it got progressively worse over the next 2 miles or so, until it was just juddering constantly and felt like it wanted to pull left. it did happen for about 5-10 minutes on the motorway about a week ago, but it was nowhere near this bad and did stop doing it. any ideas? wheel bearing perhaps? any help appreciated as i still have to drive it home and dont want to do any more damage! thanks! 8)
  8. its chipped already, and has been popping flames quite a bit when low on petrol and nicely warmed up, always on the gear change between 1st 2d and 3rd 8)
  9. andy vr6 how do i do that? sorry ive just realised i pretty much posted the same thing twice thiking i had posted the other thread on another forum! stoney, as i said im just interested to see it working, and i think itd probably be pretty jokes on a dark night! i do pop flame very occasionally anyway on gear changes, especially if the car has low petrol, but thats not from the flamer kit its just natural, and it is VERY occasionally.
  10. ive been riding bikes for the last 2 1/2 years and have come off 3 times, its not nice is it? glad you are ok dude!

    head gaskets

my head gasket went about 3 months ago and i spent 2 months fixing it. It happened while i was driving along and i didnt notice till i stopped when it was too late...the engine had cooked itself and i hadnt noticed because the water temp needle hadnt risen, and back then i rarely checked oil temp. Had to change Head Gasket, Coolant Flanges, Thermostat (ended up just removing this completely), Thermostat Housing, Radiator, 2 Pipes, Radiator Switch and have the head skimmed. I was unlucky too, no symptoms or anything that indicated it was going to happen before it happened. Oil was fine, no smoke from exhaust, and the engine seemed to run perfectly. Wasnt even loosing water quickly! Turned out it had split between the 1st and 2nd cylinder, which is quite common apparently. So yeah, be careful! haha.
