  1. Hi guys. Had today off and took the chance to clean up my filthy Corrado. it was covered in salt spray etc from the recent cold snap. Spent the day on it and was chuffed with the results. You appreciate it more when its cleaned up after being so bad. Hope to see some of you guys Sunday. Dave
  2. Ive just carried out the suspension mod on my Storm (30mm drop) . If you look carefully at this VW publicity shot the Storm featured is lowered and sits level exactly as my Storm now does so this mod is ok by me!. Dave. Mystic blue Storm
  3. Hi. I have a VR6 STORM that was completely standard when bought. I fitted eibach springs and got a new set of the original dampers and stayed with the 15 inch solitude wheels. The handleing is superb and it handles bumbs fine. No crashing or jaring. Some people fit stiffer shocks and run on 17inch wheels and wonder why the ride quality is s****. 17s look cool but are only for smooth roads and race tracks. A lot of the cushioning is in the tyre wall. 16 inch wheels are a better bet if you dont like 15s,heres a picture of my Storm on eibachs. It does level the car without overlowering. Dave
  4. Autotek had a P reg VR6 with electric leater recaros and low milage in metalic black last year. Also there was a picture of a green P reged Storm on the old Corrado club web site. So they are about. Dave N reged Storm
  5. It could be your spoiler! When I bought a 2l 16v a couple of years ago it had a right squeeky rattle coming from the boot area. It turned out to be the spoiler. There are a couple of allen bolts underneath it. I tightened these and the car was as quiet as a mouse as the Corrado should be when all is well. Dave,Mystic Storm
  6. Here we are.Chris I believe Dom has a picture of where this is: but basically you do the following: Basically, you need to spray the contact points with WD40 or similar and then all is well. Now, I was sceptical but I haven't had a problem since. What you need to do is take out the fuse box flap and then the trim surrounding it. Behind what is almost the headlight switch is a thin black box a little bigger than a box of cigs (you really need to wiggle around with a torch to find it. There are a couple of wires coming in, unattach these spray with liberal amounts of WD40 and replace. It is also worth checking that the brown lead that comes out is securely grounded on an appropriate point. It does though sound like exactly the same issue we've both had. Tis is the mail that was sent to me. Good luck. Dave
  7. This is a very common imobiliser intermitent fault which I as well as many others have suffered from. It will happen more often when the car is hot and not first thing in the morning. Firstly take the fuse box panel off and make sure the relays are pushed in properly. Ill find the rest of the imfo for you to cure it too but need to look through my mails. Dave
  8. Hi. That sounds a little to good to be true milage wise. Worth doing an HPI check. I would expect it have a little more service history with low milage. If it has only done 85k buy it. When tidied up it will be a desireable example with milage that low. Dave
  9. Ive just had the same problem. I tried the resin repair. No more problems. It took a few hours. I used quick drying araldite from halfords and it worked a treat. Take the right hand small part of the engine cover off. Pull off the multiplug conector. The coil pack comes off with the removal of 4 allen bolts. These are tight so take care not to strip any of the bolts as I did! Once off give the whole plastic area a coat. Let it dry then give it another coat. Dont forget to do a diagram of where the leads go Dave.ccgb1702
  10. I also bought a VR6 Storm from Autotek last September, I did pay a lot for it but its been sweet. It is pristine with aircon, tracker, closure and 10 stack cd. I got 3 months warenty chucked in and a new set of solitudes as it had non standard wheels when I veiwed it. I had a small problem with the aircon after a couple of months and they sorted it out straight away with no probs. Cheers Dave.
  11. Hi everyone. Im new to the Forum. Here are some pictures of my Corrado. It is my second C, the first being a moonlight 92 2l16v. This ones a mystic blue Storm fitted with A/C. full closure alarm and tracker and 10 cd changer. Its in immaculate condition with brand new solitudes. The only mod Ive had is the fitting of Eibach springs. This lowers it 25mmfront and 30mm rear. This hasnt overlowerd the car and it still looks fairly standard.( See photo)This is how I intend to keep it. The ride is still good too. It done 79k and is soon going to be a second car so the mileage should stay reasonable. Hope you like the pictures. Dave. edit:moved text from previous post about same car into this one to tidy things up-vr6storm
