Also check the supply to the sparks,when i bought mine it wo'nt start either and i found that the plug from the dizzy to the spark plug leads was damp. maybe this will help

Hi My name is sean and I said I’d write this post to introduce myself to the forum I’m a first time corrado owner I have a 1990 1.8 16valve, silver in colour Its in fairly good nick only problem is its been lying idle for awhile so it just needs a good service.
