Aw, spoilsport... :-P
-
I hope he uprated the drive shafts and gearbox then! ;)
-
Twin TURBO chargers. 377bhp. 419lbft. (Unless it's been chipped!) They had more power/torque from it when Lotus were tweaking the engine, but found that it kept snapping drive shafts, so they had to calm it down a little...!!

Hehe, this looks like it could be a corker. People are already showing signs of one-upmanship and of not-reading-what-the-other-side-ACTUALLY-wrote. Like it, keep it up, lads! ;)

Corrado Genuine Volt/Oil Pres. Guages...What else do I need?
dr_mat replied to rado-steve's topic in General Car Chat
You can't. It won't work because your car is yellow. Sell it to me. It'll work in my black car. I'll give you £10 for it, and I'm cutting my own throat there.. ;) -
When did yer mate buy this car then?? Did he ever change the oil??

Winter driving. Awareness of diff. betn air and road temps.
dr_mat replied to craigowl's topic in General Car Chat
Yes, because that's one of the few places they can measure the air temp from without it being overly impacted by the heat generated from the car itself, and also not affected by the wind chill of having a sensor in a moving air stream. But they're not at road level, by anyone's standards. -

That's what the little "frost" symbol on the MFA display is for - to warn that although the read temp may be above freezing, there may still be ice on the ground.. But it's good to make people more aware of little facts like this. -
Well you don't really wanna skimp when you're trying to stop 1.6 tonnes of metal from 177+ mph, do ya?!
-
Gear ratios?
-
Only 48 CPUs? Dear me. In need of an upgrade then.. That would explain some of the rubbish you spout from time to time.. ;)
-
Could we have found a car more expensive to run than the Corrado? Is this *possible*? ;) I always liked the Lotus Carlton. For exactly the point made above: subtlety.. 177mph and it looks like nothing too special. It's only that badge and the large alloys that kinda give it away outside... Last I heard you were looking at 10 grand for a good runner, so I have no idea how many headaches you can buy yourself for £5k, but it strikes me as not worth it unless you're in the trade and can get stuff cheap!
-
Rear brake compensator valve? If the back end is jacked up it won't allow any pressure to the rear brakes anyway...
-
Yeah for a start the Corrado simulator couldn't maintain that "what's going to break next" paranoia at the required fever pitch. It became too obvious that it wasn't a real C... This thread is cool.. :)

Black sludgy oil strikes me as the most likely candidate for problems!
-
And ten years later that's the equivalent of what, £29k now? Just shows how expensive it was.. And why it just didn't sell well..
-
There's plenty of Carlton 3.0 24v kicking around for peanuts money, if you fancy a bit more power than your VR.. ;)
-
Why not replace your headunit for one that plays mp3 CDs, and remove the need for a CD changer... ;)
-
Get a bigger car????!!! ;)

Ultra Rare Nugget Yellow Storm, Now there is 501!
dr_mat replied to rado-steve's topic in Members Gallery
Don't want that rear badge going missing, given the price of these things I'd be inclined to leave them off the car permanently.. -
Sell them to me. I can sell the MOST unique storm in the world. A black one... ;) (Ok there's a guy with a white storm too, I know.. :) ) Even better sell them to jedi.. But of course, get a cut of the extra mark-up he achieves on the sale of his VR.. ;)
-
There is a fuel cut-off that might be triggered in an accident, but there's no ECU reset switch (that I'm aware of). Not sure where the fuel cut-off is though, I think it's around the rear end of the car, near the fuel filter?
-
Sounds like axle bushes/wheel bearings/etc to me. Not normal for a C to feel twitchy in the wind, unless you're driving across an open bridge and there's a force 10 blowing...
-
Technically as I understand it the engine is unmodified, it's just from a different car ... ;) Mighty cool however!!

Yes. The chain was through the pad and was starting to dig a groove into the rivets that hold the pad in place when it was removed. It had been clattering for some time, probably at least a year, when it was done.
