  1. The fact that Corrados seem to be magically coming to life could go some way to explaining why the market is so tight at the moment. No more parking next to Storms for me...
  2. Reminds me of the recent story about Hulk Hogan's son stuffing his Supra and doing permenant damage to one of his mates. Ironically he did a reality show called "Hogan knows best." I don't know how hard I can criticise this guy. I was a bit of a tit at 18 like most of us probably were, though luckily I was restricted to a battle weary 1.4 Citreon ZX. If I had then what I have now everyone's Corrados would probably be worth slightly more. Strange to say in a way I'm glad I didn't have rich parents.
  3. The garage that did my alloys made it into a monster truck on their 1st attempt ...and it wasn't a good look. I think it's kind of like Tim Westwood, he started talking that way and realised he couldn't stop because he feared he would look silly if he did. So, he carried on but looked even sillier. I would say RIP to that poor VR6, but it doesn't look like it will do. I just wish he had ruined an ordinary Golf.
  4. Sharking for my mum on the internet? This is up there with the time David Dickinson tried to pull her ...the tv doesn't give that man enough credit for how radioactive he truly is. At the same time I was having this issue another devonshire garage broke my brother's car which caused an MOT failiure. It could have been compounded by the fact that the two garages he dealt with were at war for some reason, but once again it got resolved easily enough. If there's a moral to this thread it could be that as long as your car gets broken by a mechanic in the south-west you'll be ok. For me though, as long as mine has four wheels and can maintain some kind of forward momentum I will never take mine into a place there again. I just don't think they're ready for cars down there yet.
  5. I'm sorry you had this issue mate and to some extent I can sympathise - Strangely I had a pretty similar experience a few months ago after getting the MOT done ...alarm goes off, button gets pressed, windows go up, keys in ignition. As soon as the guy asked for spare keys for the Volkswagen I knew I was in trouble. They were in Leicestershire, and I was in Devon. After leaving it there overnight I got a call early morning (supposed to be on a break, not happy) saying they had sorted it. As soon as I got in I found out the central locking wasn't working, at which point they tried to convince me it was probably like that in the first place! We shot that one down fast for pretty obvious reasons. So I had to take it back again, they call me, say it's sorted. I then find out the central locking isn't connected to the alarm. I am close to breaking point when he tells me if they can't fix it then I will have to go to VW to get it done. Luckily they do (this was a week long saga, and only the short version of a much longer story...) I was pretty fortunate that they were scared of my mum and were decent guys. I wouldn't take it there again though. The one thing that pissed me off more than anything else was they used MY CAR to pick me up in and take me back to the garage. The fact that I took the other issues in reasonably good humour may question my mentality slightly, but god did that annoy me!
  6. I can scarcely believe I am thinking it (let alone saying it) - but for me it shows that speed isn't the be all and end all if you look silly doing it. But fair play to him like.
  7. ...And as much as I like the Focus I'm sure we can all agree the Corrado is way cooler. I'm just glad I had the foresight to check the Civil Service encampments before I left, otherwise we may have had a different tete-a-tete over who gets the top bunk.
  8. My 1st post is not perhaps the most happy one. Got outdone by a Focus ST on the A5 yesterday, wasn't much in it but he definitely had the better of me. I take solace in the fact that I probably have a few 10k on him. ...and I'm a fat git.
