  1. These AP coilovers seem to be a popular choice for the Corrado. I currently have the FK AK street £150 jobbies fitted on mine which came with the car. The ride is very crashy and the back end seems to bounce about. How do these ride compared to the KW V1 and the ST X coilovers based on handling and comfort. The drop will be 1-2 finger gap all round, on 16" rims, 195 45 16 tyres.
  2. That's impressive, I'm on 120k at the mo' with no sound of any rattles, so really in two minds about getting them done as a precautionary measure, but I guess its that constant "What if" thought in the back of your mind every time you get heavy footed.
  3. At that mileage are you still running on the original chains and tensioners.
  4. Cool, will give him a shout. Did reach out to chrisL on here before Xmas but not heard anything back.
  5. Anyone have a set of those brackets to allow fitment of the Spal slim line radiator fans. Would need to fit a 11" and 9" fan.
  6. Yeah, that's the one it had some kind of black tape along the rear. Was very keen on this a few months back, I spoke with the previous owner (Judith) a few times, she did mention that a lot of the maintenance work in the past was carried out by DG Autotech and I spoke with the garage who did the recent major service and he praised the mechanical condition of the car, but I decided not to proceed due to the cosmetic work required and the fact it wasn't exactly local for me to go and view. Anyway good to see its gone to forum member.
  7. Is this one that belonged to a lady owner, I think it was on piston heads for £6k a few months back.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys, this is something I'm considering in the spring so I can enjoy the car in the summer, well that's the plan anyway.
  9. The quote is from Stealth. The general advice always seems to be get the chains and tensioners replaced but this was the first time I had heard about head overhaul. I guess I just need to see what the difference is in cost without the head overhaul work and also understand what exactly is involved. The only other quote I've had back is from Jody at Midland VW, and he's quoted £1k but that's excluding the head overhaul. I'm slap bag in the middle of these two specialists, but I get the impression that Stealth have a little more love for the Raddo and especially the VR6 engine.
  10. Hi Peeps! I've been quoted £1550 all in to have the chains/tensioner/clutch replaced and the cylinder head overhauled. My question to you all is how necessary is it to get the head work done as this is something that was advised to do at the same time. Mileage on the car is 120k. £1550 is a little over budget as my expectations were around the £1k mark excluding the head work. Also I'm assuming a head overhaul is decoking/skimming and very different to what some refer to as a complete head rebuild.

    Spal Fans

Can anyone fabricate a bracket that will allow for a single 11" to fit centre of the radiator.

    Spal Fans

If I do go with the 1 Fan option, which one comes recommended. Also what size?

    Spal Fans

Also looking to replace the fans on my VR, without Aircon. Is it possible to fit just one and somehow keep the 2 speed functionality. Can someone provide a definitive answer as to which model number and type I would need if I went for 2 fan and 1 fan option. Would I also need to some brackets, if so where can I source them. Gus.
  14. Need to source a new sump, due to leak. Not looking to repair but just a replacement, can anyone recommend where and which one to get. I've seen a Topran sump, gasket, plug kit on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK3-2-8-VR6-CORRADO-2-9-OIL-SUMP-PAN-GASKET-SUMP-PLUG-A123-/201116687111 Does anyone have any experience of this kit. Gus.
  15. Thanks Jim, Will give them a call. Anyone know of any others.
  16. Hi All, Have a car in mind which I need to decide on very quickly but it requires some paintwork, however having only recently moved to the West Midlands (Solihull) I'm not aware of any good Car paint shops. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Work involved is front and rear bumper, bonnet and both left/right wings.

Howz it going peeps! I've been keepin a low profile from the whole VW moddin scene. Got on the property ladder, and I'm gettin married in June 2007, so saving up for that. However have been poppin in out of this and the Edition 38 forums, just to keepin an eye on things. The Raddo's still in storage at my folks place in Derby. Daz/ Furks - Plan to make a trip down next year to get that crank bolt changed for the third year running (LOL). Oh and sort out the rear spoiler, never did work after removing the rear wiper.. Amit - You still got the VR6
