This is getting very strange then. As I said mine only light up when depressed but with the headlights and sidelights off!! Any ides anyone?

Is that with the headlights on and off? Does switching the headlights on and off make any difference at all? This is getting weirder and weirder! PS do your move side to side?

Does no-one know whats going on with these buttons? I was wondering if its just the LEDs that need changing somehow. Maybe reversing the current by soldering them on the other way round.

I'm pretty sure that the system I have is a Davia system. It's fittied to my 1994 VR6. But the buttons on the dash move about side to side - do other peoples? Also they light up when pressed but with the lights off! They dont light up at any other time, surely this cant be right. I assume that they will not light up in the same way as the ones around them as they are aftermarket.

OK, off topic a little. UPDATE! When playing with the switches last night I discovered that the button text does light up when the headlights are off and the buttons are pressed - weird! Anyone know if this odd behaviour is normal?

I have an aircon button panel which moves about in its mounting above the heated seat controls on the left of the instrament cluster. It slides about 2mm side to side, but fits fine vertically. Does this mean that its the wrong panel for my car? It also does not light up at all - should it? All the switches around it light up fine and have a nice illuminated ring around them when pressed. Its one of the panels with 2 buttons, one saying norm and the other saying max.

Hey Baz, Looks like its gonna be an Autowatch 161RL which will wire in with the existing Cat 2 immobiliser. If your mate is able to fit such an alarm, it would make things somewhat easier for me. Let me know how much cash he would want. Posh/Ross.

Gavin I was thinking of an Autowatch as they seem to get good press. It would seem from a little research that this alarm is designed to work with the current immobiliser, right? Would this result in a Cat 1 system? I would think that this would be tricky to fit, as my abilities only stretch to fitting a radio (not very well). How much would you want for such a system, and how much should I be paying a qualified person to fit it? I would probably be after headlight loom at the same time.

Ok, the car has a factory immobiliser and that is all. So therefore at the moment no remote central locking. I want remote central locking, and full closure, but if possible dont want to have to touch a little bit of plastic to a receptical every time I want to drive the car.

I am in Bristol and need a reliable alarm fitter to fit a Cat 1 alarm. Anyone know of one? Was thinking of trying Sextons. I dont want an extra little fob thingy that I have to touch onto the dash, so any suggestions for a good alarm. (Simple, reliable and cheap.) Maybe I'm being a tart but I really dont like the Cobra fobs so they're out of the window!

My calipers are pretty nasty and rusty. Should I somehow get the rust off before painting? If so, any suggestions as to how I should go about it?? Also the standard 16V disks look pretty weedy in my 17s, whats the cheapest/easiest way to make them bigger? Is it possible to just get bigger carriers? if so where?

Hi all. I am considering selling my Corrado. 6 months ago I got a job selling BMWs and so they gave me a shiny new car to drive. So my Corrado is currently sitting on my Dads lawn with a cover over it. He starts it once a week, lets it warm up and moves it to kill a different patch of lawn. So I am thinking of selling it to free up a bit of cash. However I have no idea what its worth. Fair point, sorry Henny. Not dumb Jedi, I have Toyos on the front ATM and they are pretty much knackered. Need some new tyres for upcoming MOT. Can get some Federals much cheaper than Toyos (yes even on mytyres!). Was just after some impartial advice on whether they are any good, as I dont know them at all.

OK so Marshalls are crap but what about Federals? If I drive them like Toyos am I going to end up in the hedge?

Does any one have any experience of 17" Marshall tyres? Are they total crap, or just not quite up to Toyo standards?

I'm guessing that they are 7" wide, so what offset would that mean?

My HT Leads are looking a bit tired. So I was thinking about replacing them but they are pretty pricy on the 16V. Eurocarparts have them for £45, and there are various "posh" ones available. Is there anyone out there who has experience or advice on which ones to go for and if its worth splashing the cash.
