  1. are you going to use your car for motorsport or fit one of those sh***y chrome show cages ? BTW have had several road rally cars I've built over 20 yrs so can speak from a point of knowledge J
  2. update on this was infact the switch in the radiator being the problem thanks for advice to chiller1 btw  now just the osf ABS to sort now... changed the horrid 17s back to refubished :) oem westwood 15 with new 195/50/50 Hankook Ventus V12 , for some reason there was a spacer fitted to the OSR wheel only ?!? shitty old locking wheel nuts replaced at same time now the ABS light is on :bad-words: J
  3. hows it going? I've noticed yours is missing its 'vw' badge on its rear end so was mine, bought a brand new Golf Mk2 one off eBay for about £16 from a good vw seller as the C ones are NLA but this was same part , fitted in about 30s as was just the job (there's a thread on here somewhere) didn't get to all types but some more shows coming up rgds J
  4. nice to see another Grey C - join the 'Pearl Grey club' J hopefully you'll be able to change those front lights soon too ! :ignore:
  5. saw 'D4 MON' on an Audi - probably got boll8ck*d for not spacing as would look good if done 'D4MON' 'RUB 15H' on a wagon looked quite good J
  6. replaced my rear vw badge with one from a guy on eBay (lesbray) which was for a Mk2 Golf used the original rubber backing as was still good good info from on here about these badges esp as dealer said 'dunno what your gonna use as originals are NLA' looking good now on my Pearl Grey J
  7. fair play to the guy good luck :)
  8. no brainer re costs of materials & time expended as note above in the thread unless either skint / doing it as a trial otherwise pop along to National Alloys in Widnes (see their own website) they do for £35 each if 15" I've just had 4x Westwoods (?) inc centre caps that I had recently bought from this very forum (GlosterOx) refurbished in silver ( wet painted due to ability to do the plastic centre caps )to a very high standard there a week ago that looked like yours beforehand. I'm sure they also do powdercoating too J
  9. well my new 'vw' badge arrived promptly yesterday in the post fitted the two black 'bung' clips into the rear panel holes and reused the original rubber part and pushed in the new badge took all of 2 mins looks back to new now 'jobs a goodun' thanks to all post on here as the guy at the dealer said ''NLA so dunno what you are gonna do...'' cheers J
  10. was this the type you may have bought off eBay as the link put in a previous post ? looking to replace mine u see so want to make sure before buying one from the guy J
  11. does it have the two prongs to go through the two holes in the panel via the rubber black backing ring which is separate ? Was it solid at the back of the golf 'vw' and therefore just stuck on with its own self-adhesive backing ? did this completely seal around the edges would like to know as my newly acquired C's rear badbge was complete and have used primer/etch then chrome spray but looks kinda wrong compared to the v shiny chrome new 'vw' badge i've just put onto the front grill. needs to look stock esp as previously resprayed v well by previous owner 2-3 yrs ago and its that v nice pearl grey shade :) thanks J
  12. Hi, I had a 1.6 Zetec Focus 52 plate - did all that u wanted well but not exceptional but my GT TDI ( PD) Golf Mk4 1 PO going strong on 138K and cost £3.50 for 2x front ARB bushes to pass last MOT & returns never less than 40mpg despite trying hard - would deffo recommend it to anyone !!! now have '94 16V C so good job the Golf is cheap to run daily... J
