  1. Cheers Guys, that's all really helpful :) I think I may have located one from a fellow User on the forum, fingers x'd - I should know more on Tuesday but it's looking likely and it's a G60 one - yay!!! Will keep you posted! Boost Monkey - I totally agree, they're complete rip off merchants half the time - I'd rather give the cash to a fellow C lover :) Pete - Yeah I know where those guys are, I will go and check out J&R this weekend - always good to have a backup plan and possible spare what with all the potholes and dodgy roads round here - which is pretty much how it happened in the first place. Is Ikey back open now after the inferno??? Will go and have a look but that dude creeps me out big time ha ha!!! Cheltenham is a good call too what with the cruises up there hee hee ;) I'm thinking plenty of seized vehicles?! Mikkijayne - I've heard that from someone else.......could be worth investigation if I get no joy with finding the specific one. Really helpful info, thanks :) I will keep you all posted and will get on here with some pics and the problems and work I have done so far.......................once shes all fixed then I'm taking her to a speed hill climb - should be very interesting lol!! Cheers Lil Bird :)
  2. Hi there,

I have just been given your details from Purple Tom. I am currently looking for a front subframe for my G60, which has recently decided to crack beyond repair :( He suggested that you may have one available? It's been epic trying to find a replacement, I've been told that a Mk2 Golf will fit but looks like a bit of a bodge job which I'd rather not do. I've been quoted up to £400 for a new one from the VW dealership, yikes!!

I would be really grateful for any assistance, I want my baby back on the road, especially after just forking out for some shiny new wheels lol :(

    Kind Regards

    Lil Bird :)

  3. Wicked, thanks guys....................I'll get there in the end!! Got a quote from VW for a new one and depending on where it's cracked it could be up to £400 (don't trust dealerships tho ;)) Thanks Purple Tom - will get in touch with him now, fingers x'd Steveo - Will try them too, thanks for that Will let you know how I get on, thanks again!! Lil Bird :)
  4. It's a G60 by the way, not sure if there is much difference with the VR6?
  5. Cool, sorry for lack of info :( I love in Herefordshire and I have a G60. Will have a root around at the weekend at the local scrappys, so do you reckon a Golf Mk2 may do the job? I've seen some on eBay, I could give one a go? Thanks for you response, muchly appreciated :)
  6. Hi Guys!!! My car is poorly at the moment and has a badly cracked subframe :( Unfortunately it is beyond welding repair - bummer!!! Does anybody know where I can get one from as they don't appear to be easy to find and the part number is different to that to a Mk2 Golf so don't want to purchase anything that is no good for my car!! Does anybody have any advice on the best way forward, pretty stuck without a car now, just when I have bought some shiny new wheels for her :( Would I get away with a Mk2 Golf subframe or are they too different? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in Advance Lil Bird x

  9. hey guys, a real quick one. the missus G60 wouldn't start this morning, jump started no prob. drove it to work without any dramas, she went out for lunch and i had to jump start it again! i noticed the digi part of the clocks/speedo is staying on and i can't remember off the top of my head whether they should? if not what could cause the problem? shes almost got to the point that she wants to sell it now... cheers guys, slim :salute:
  10. groovy! cheers for all the advice! :) ordered new ignition switch, dizzy cap and rotor arm too. can't do any harm like! lol will get on and order a new temp sender in the morning... from vw! :) anyone got a part number? oh, rang them today about an ecu relay but they weren't sure which one it was and wanted the code off of the side but the car was in having tracking done. don't suppose anyone knows the code off the top of their heads do they? will have to check the earth straps and reset the idle. how do i go about reseting it? the battery terminals are nice and tight, checked that first. the hose that was split was the one off the top of the rocker cover that feeds back into the charger. presumably thats just a breather? other than that when the cars above 1000 rpm shes fine, pulls and pulls all the way to the redline! :D sorry for all the questions guys, not had much to do with rado's or superchargers tbh! learning slowy though! :) lol anywho, enough for now... slim :salute:
  11. Hi guys, The missus is having a few dramas with the G60. Firstly the idle is very low, it ticks over about 500RPM and she's proper lumpy when cold. Changed the plugs and ordered leads. Also a new hose as one as a slight hole in it. Any other suggestions. Secondly it started raining this morning and we used the wipers for the first time on intermittant. When the wipers started the clocks cut out and came back on. This only took a fraction of a second. The time and MFA got reset when it did this, the lights (oil, water etc) flashed up and the rev counter dipped. Am I right in thinking this could possibly be ignition switch? I know they can cause no end of problems! Going to ring VW now to get price on new ignition switch and ECU relay cos its not going to do any harm changing those. Does this sound like it would fix the problem? Shes only had the car a few weeks and is worrying about it! Understandable really as she loves this car! :) Cheers dudes and dudettes! :D Slim :salute:
