1. Hi guys, got a new pair of wishbones for my car with the bushes already fitted and a couple of new balljoints also. I plan on tackling this at the weekend, can anyone confirm if it is only the VR6 that requires the oil sump to be removed? I have a 2.0 16V and I am assuming that nothing else requires to be removed other than the ARB? Dougie
2. Some really nice gestures on this thread Gents, well done to you all. Dougie
3. Not sure about other areas in the UK, but here in Central Scotland I very rarely see another Corrado. Yesterday finally got a hold of a trailer to move the Corrado from my folks house up to our house in Stirling to get it into a cosy wee garage so I can get to working on it. On the way up what do I pass.......another Aqua Blue Metallic Corrado heading the opposite direction!!! Me and my Dad p1ssed ourselves laughing after I had been banging on about how rare these are on the roads now!! So if it was anyone on here with the "M" reg Aqua, it looked very nice. Dougie
4. Nice looking car mate. I have sent you a couple of PM's, not sure if you have got them or not?? Dougie
5. RW1, we have an A5 coupe, had it a couple of years now and it hasnt missed a beat. No electrical issues and it has got pretty much every extra on it electrically, parking sensors, electric seats, rear view mirror etc etc etc. So my own experience of owning one doesnt really stack up with the figures. That said we might just have been lucky. My A4 Avant diesel on the other hand......... Dougie
6. No worries, just remember someone with a very similar username from Aberdeen that used to post on the SIDC and Scoobynet many years ago. Wouldnt like to be chucking fuel into a Subaru nowadays, used to cost me a small fortune back in the mid ninties when it was about 80p a litre!! Saw your post that you were looking at Audi barges too. I have a 170bhp B7 avant SLine, very nice car but with 315nm torque I wish I had bought quattro like my last Audi was. It really has very little traction and can be very frustrating. Dougie ---------- Post added at 04:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:59 PM ---------- Sorry for the thread Hijack Macdaddy!!!
7. That colour looks lovely in the snow. Agree with Coullstar those wheels look nice too. Had loads again last night in the South of Scotland, all I had to play with was a Front wheel drive Audi diesel that seems todo nohting but spin its front wheels at the first sign of a damp road! Not looking forward to my first winter of 12 years without four wheel drive! On a side note, Coullstar did you ever own a Subaru back in the day? Dougie
8. Interested Sam, PM me what you are looking for them and if they are standard or the R32 ones. We must have the same taste in cars as my daily is a B7 Avant as well! Dougie
9. Cheers Dave, Let me know. Dougie
10. Thats very useful that site, thanks mate. VAg just quoted me 46.19 each for the ARBlinks, 3.46 for the ARB bushes each and 20.03 for the front wishbone rear bush! Last question (I promise!) would be...is there a big difference in quality between the repro parts and the genuine items? Dougie
11. Thanks supercharged, phoned my local VAG dealer just now, waiting on him getting back to me and will ask him about the R32 items as an option. I need the links for the ARB and he is giving me a price/availability when he returns my call. Dougie
12. Stuck the car in for its MOT and its failed! :bonk: Good news is it only failed on its windscreen wiper blades and the rear brake binding BUt it also failed on the nearside front suspension arm rubber bush (rear) and had advisories for both sides front anti roll bar linkage having play in it. Are any of these parts common with the Golf/Passat etc? As would quite like to replace with OEM parts where possible, or does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy new kits for the anti roll bar bushes etc? This will be my projects to do over the winter cheers Dougie
13. Cant take credit for that Dannyboy, that was the guy I contacted and they had done the same to him, I will of course be leaving very similar feedback!! :thumbleft: Waiting until I get my cash back first tho! Dougie
14. As per title really, looking for an Aqua Blue Metallic (LC5U) bootlid. Must be in good condition and in particular the area beneath the number plate lights (as that is where mine is a bit ropey) Also would be looking for a near side wing in same. Thanks in advance Dougie
15. I told them when I contacted them that they should use Buy it Now as they are just wasting everybodys time. Still not received my refund yet so this could be fun!! Just a heads up for y'all! Dougie
16. Hello chaps, Just thought I would give you all a quick heads up on an ebay seller, name is jodievwvr6. Seems to be a breakers yards in Luton, won a tailgate in an auction for silly low money, now they claim to have ran into it and damaged it in the yard! Looks like they have done this already looking at previous feedback. If they dont get what they are looking for they dont see the auction through. Have requested my money back but nothing as of yet. Just for your info Dougie
17. Thanks for the welcome folks, I have put some pictures up in the members gallery. I should really set my location in my sig, im up in Central Scotland so might not be too easy to get to some of your meets, that and it will probably be a while before I have it on the road. But hopefuly through the forum will get to know a lot of you. Dougie
18. Many thanks gents. Corrado was the car I never bought, always had Golf Gti's (MkI mkII and mkIII) then went away from V-dub compeletely. Should really change my user name now! Coullstar what would the original whel finish have been? Wont be touching the wheels for a long time (if at all) as they were refurbed a few months ago by the previous owner and a new set of Pirellis stuck on it. Aide..I know but I will resist! really only want an original car. Biggest expense will be a respray at some point in the future to secure the car from the dreaded rust as there are a few bits on wheel arches and fuel filler. Dougie
19. Just bought this little 16 valver. Completely original paintwork on it. 2 owners from new, first owner for 15 years. Bags and bags of history so a nice wee project. No big plans for it other than sort out any niggles and really planning on keeping it as standard as possible. Hope to get lots of advice along the way here and will do my best to post up any how to's I get around to "how toing"!! Dougie
20. Hi there, PM'd you but no reply. Im looking for the complete rear number plate light assembly if you still have it. Condition and price posted please mate. Thanks Dougie
21. Thanks guys, I will do. I want to keep the car very original, just something nice to work on every now and again. Only thing I can see at the moment that needs attended to is a possible water temperature issue and the sunroof only tilts, spoiler works both manually and at speed which is a bonus. I will get some pictures taken when the weather is half decent up here (next June at this rate!) Dougie
22. Just wanted to say hi gents/ladies. Got my first Corrado the other day. It will be a slow burner project but hopefuly will be spending a lot of time on here asking some particular newbie questions! Think I have got myself a good one, its a 1994 16V, purpely blue, 2 owners from new completely untouched apart from a stainless steel back box as far as I can see. First thing will be to attend to the rust spots around the wheel arch and fuel filler so they dont get any worse. Then its off for an MOT to see whats needed :bonk: Dougie
