  1. Mine get's called a Scirocco all the time. I just smile and nod.
  2. Noooooooooooo!! Oh well! One less thing to buy. :thumbleft:
  3. Whip the head off and asses the damage, more than likely the bottom end will be fine and you'll have bent some valves. This will cost you nowt, and you'll lean a little more about engines.. You can't damage something which is already broken. I reckon you will have bent some valves. A replacement complete head is £50, headgasket and other various gaskets £50, oil, coolant, cambelt, pulley etc, £50.. No need to do the water pump really if it was working fine before. £150-£200ish to get it back on the road. We'll all help you along the way!
  4. haha.. Lessons in life; brought to you by the-corrado.net
  5. £10? That all? El Cheapo. Cheers dude. I'll get a new one. Might get it cheaper from TPS?
  6. I don't have an instruction manual :( I don't mind removing the headlights. It's a 2 min job. So access it from the back and just man up and pull yeah?
  7. I'm after the seal which sits at the very front underside of the bonnet. Like a long gasket/seal. With all the fixings please. Thanks!
  8. I'm after the radiator cover/tool tray for a G60. With the screws if you have them. This thing: Thanks!
  9. I can rebuild engines, strip suspension components and refurbish brakes. I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove a Corrado sidelight. Is it a case of removing the rear cover of the headlights and just pulling the sidelight from the back? Is it like a twist fitment or just a rubber bung so it fits snug? Or do I have to remove the lens to access it?
  10. Yes, you're right, there are two (maybe 3?) brown wires going the the water flange on the side of the head. Might be a good idea to remove them and clean the contacts/eyelits. Yes, I would recommend at least cleaning the contacts for the main earth from the battery to the chassis/gearbox. My old Mk2 golf had a cutting out issue which then ended up with a fried ECU leaving the injectors fully open and fuel pump priming (not fun). Which was down to a dodgy main engine earth.
  11. Which earth(s) did you replace? Iirc there is only the earth from the battery to the chassis leg/gearbox and then the coil to the throttle body. The earth from the bonnet to body is only for the stereo electric interference. I wouldn't recommend adding any extra earths as it's known to give the ECU the hump. Make sure you clean any contact point for the earths. Also, what plugs did you fit? Does this problem happen from cold or warm? or both? on partial throttle or full throttle? or both? or only on idle?
  12. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_electrical.php Beru, good OE quality, el cheapo. I just bought some Beru HT's, dizzy cap and rotor arm from here which cured my misfire.
  13. Mine arrived today.. I'm well impressed with the quality of the loom and how comprehensive the work instructions are. Thanks Zak! :thumbleft: Rich.
  14. I also feel your pain.. Bloody 4x4 drivers. Grrr.
  15. I'm interested in this too.. Looks like one of those duo styling ones.
  16. Just a shot in the dark... But remnants from a CD changer maybe?
  17. Sheffield unfortunately. But like I say, I think £15 posted to your door is a realistic price I can achieve. I might even try and get my work to take on the VAT making it even cheaper.
  18. No problem. The Wurth salesman is popping to see me today at work so I'll get the prices etc and see what he says. I'll keep the thread updated. ---------- Post added at 11:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 AM ---------- The Wurth salesman has just been in. £12.99+vat a can or it's £9.99+vat per can if I order 12. Then delivery of the products are £5.99 per order. So Andrew, your prices are right. I'm happy to start a group buy if there is enough interest, but realistically after delivery it's going to work out £15 per can posted, so it's only a £5 saving. It all adds up though.
  19. Sweet.. I'll give them a call, I work in the automotive industry so I might be able to get them el cheapo.. If I can who's be interested in some?
  20. I need to purchase some PTFE spray for my G60 (boost return mod), preferably before the weekend. I know it needs to be a non silicone based PTFE spray, and done every few months/1000 miles. From what I've found G-Werks is the only place that sell the stuff, but I need the spray before a long trip this weekend and I've lost all hope in their efficiency with previous dealings. Can anyone recommend a specific spray and where to buy it from? Links would be awesome. Also, from my searches it has been mentioned that PTFE spray isn't actually needed as the apex seals are self lubricating and the PTFE actually builds up and blocks the ports, can someone actually clarify this? Thanks.
  21. Yes pics please!!! What size tyres did you go for?
  22. Thats the plan.. Just get a VW one to replace it..
  23. Has anyone ever fitted some Ibiza Cupra 5 -star alloys to their Corrado? These ones: If so, do you have any pictures of what they look like on a Corrado? Tempted to buy a cheap local set for my winter wheels. Thanks.
  24. I've been trying to set up my car since the headgasket was replaced and I'm struggling with the Co-Pot. I know it's meant to be between 500-600 ohms on idle across the two outer pins. Can someone clarify this? Is it with the blue temp plugged in or unplugged? Also what setting on my multimeter do I use? I have 200, 2000, 20k, 200k and 2000k. Anyway I was struggling to get it accurately between 500-600 ohms. So I took it to a local garage who put it on the gas tester. CO2 was 0.5% and hydro carbons was 30. The MOT guy said it's running cleaner than a new car and suspected it running lean. No amount of screwing of the Co-Pot made a difference on the screen. Until I unplugged the blue temp and tried. I got the CO2 at 1.5% plugged the blue temp back in and it dropped to 0.5% again. Any ideas what's going on?
  25. I'm after some late spec foglights and indicators including the holders to convert my early car.. What have you got? Thanks!
