  1. Its probably because this will be the first time i've started my 'own' policy (been on my Dads for the last 3 years) so I have no NCB or anything. £2400 was one of the worst quotes but even the cheapest (£1800) is just too dear to justify for 3rd party :(
  2. I can't believe my luck! I've managed to ruin my chance of owning a Corrado for at least the next 3 years by the look of things  Basically, our Van driver at work was only Holiday today, so I was summoned to do the days deliveries, in a brand new 3.0 TDi T5 van. Quite nippy, but as I found, too nippy. Travelling back at a steady 80mph on the 3 lane dual-carriageway, I see a new Ford Mondeo following my every move in my rear view mirror and following closey behind. I assumed it was the usual Rep-driver being a prick and I carried on at my same speed and moved over. Then they pulled in front of me and the dreaded blue and red lights came on :x Pulled over at the nearest layby and a lady Traffic officer runs over, opens the door and gets in the van. Officer: Do you know how fast this Van is meant to go? Me: Ermmm, not sure? I imagine it'll do about 110mph Being the first time I've ever been pulled over for speeding (19 years old) I wasn't quite sure what she meant... Officer: No, your actually supposed to be driving at 60mph and you were travelling at 85mph. Me: Oh...Crikey! Then the usual exchange, 3 points...£60 fine etc. Thats when my heart kind of sank, because I knew it would have some effect on the Corrado 8V I'm planning to buy next month. Didn't realise how much though! Before Speeding fine: £1238 (TPF&T) After Speeding fine: £2380.30!!! . Not all quotes that bad, but at least £500 premium on all of them  Complete bloody joke! As much as I love the Corrado, I'd have to be insane or have a Royal title to pay anything like that. So I'm afriad the dream is over  So, Audioscape Door Pods and new Lupo Wipers up for sale soon... Annoyed isn't the word!
  3. and where do you think trade-ins go?
  4. Right click, save as
  5. This might amuse you, a couple of weeks ago someone from work told me a story where he was driving through Ipswich and some Chavs gave him some abuse while he was waiting at the Traffic lights. Hes does nothing, except causually give them the middle finger before driving to the next set of lights, which were red. Now this bloke drives a tatty old Volvo 440, so he doesn't really give a crap what they do to the car as its worth nothing anyway. The chavs naturally run after him and one of them decides to kick the rear bumper of the car. Now remember what hes driving... Apparently he was on the floor in the middle of the road in agony! The car was unmarked of course!
  6. You've obviously never met him then, nor seen his hair! :-P
  7. According to most of these reports, as Road Angels use sattellite-positioning sytem rather than laser detector and the fact they genuinely are a safety device (alerts of blackspots etc), they won't be affected by the new laws.
  8. I thought that was her but wasn't sure! She's not looking as good now as she did in Lethal Weapon 2 though :-P I like the more mature woman though
  9. I'm more an Emmerdale fan, but only because of Patsy Kensit
  10. LOL, would help! :-P Now edited. Phil K: Offer is valid forever! :-P I've got them coming out of my ears

  12. Finding this forum of course  Otherwise a pretty crap year! :(
  13. I have a list of Corrado headlight part numbers in front of me right now, every single headlamp is still availiable (apart from one which is on back order, it ain't obselette though. I suspect the person you were speaking to had 'Partco-son's desease', which means compulsive lying to try and get a sale and make the OEM supplier look like a Scrouge... Be very wary of Partco and the like at the moment, allot of there 'Dealer Prices' are completely inaccurate. You'll find that some of the parts you buy are only a couple of quid more, if not cheaper, than what you'd get them from a Dealer. Earlier style Corrado headlamps are only £68.00 + VAT from VAG, later ones are slightly dearer at £99.99 + VAT. Both before Corrado forum discount  Lights tend to be the very last thing they'll stop producing for a Car, put it this way, you can still buy Audi 50 headlights from Audi
  14. Excellent :D Do you know if Schrick (or Shreek! as I used to call them  ) do a Cam for them?
  15. Anybody? Or at least has anyone driven one before? Just need to know how they compare in terms of general day-to-day driving when compared with a 2.0 16V? :) Reason I ask is, 8v's seem to command about £500 less than the equivalent 16v's despite being in same general condition. Me not being much of a speed freak, just wondering if they really are as bad as people portray them?
  16. Done with permission, of course   (I voted for G60Renshaw, btw)
  17. I think you've all overlooked the Greatest Corrado of the Year for Body mods. This car is special, and has probably had more bodywork done on it in the last year than any of the cars above. I vote for Dinkus' Car. It had some work done in the N/S/F wing and Rear Quarter Panel area early in the year, but he just wasn't happy with it. What he really wanted the 'Oh Fuck! I've just crashed my car into a Telegraph pole' look, which I think is fairly unique for a Corrado. Think about it, while most owners are doing the boring 'Front n Rear' shunts in there C's, Dinkus has gone one step further, and I appauld him for that. He (or his insurance company) has easily spent the most this year on Body mods, it deserves to be entered! (puts on flame suit  ) Volkswagon Corrado VR6 Exterior Smooth Aero Wipers (one now bent) Crumpled Wing, Bonnet and Bumper. Chassis Bent. Wheels & Tyres 'Kevs Special' Speedlines. One now bent, tyre ripped Engine Probably fucked. Interior 'Blood Stained' Recaros Modified Drivers footwell ICE Saved.
  18. Makes you wonder, if it had been selling as well in the US and Europe as well as it had been selling here perhaps production could have lasted for another year or two
  19. I can't see a problem with it to be honest, as long as what hes posting is relevant
  20. Even if that was 3rd party, its still gonna be cheaper than what i'll be paying
  21. I've seen the wheels before, but II haven't seen an RS8
  22. I think I need to change my Boxers!
