Three years ago or maybe longer I fitted a Johns fuel pump, swapping the VDO fuel sender and fuel tank lid. It is a perfect fit and works exactly how it should. Sorry I no longer have the details of where it was purchased or the part number.
For £40 delivered at the time I would highly recommend the Johns pump which comes with a 2 year warranty.

On 11/27/2021 at 1:38 PM, Dox said:Higgins is banned from trading here, the only one in the 13 years I've been here. He pushed his luck and took the piss until Andy banned him from the classifieds for not paying the breaker section fee and putting wanted ads quoting "no inflated prices" when his certainly were!
Boab was banned years ago for taking people’s money and not sending the goods. His mum kindly stepped in and ensured everyone was refunded.

I usually check in to the forum a few times a week to see what’s happening. I must admit to not contributing recently, mainly due to the Corrado being garaged most of the time, Golf R ownership and checking out other VW Forums. I remember being the 50th forum member as Aqua Blue VR6 :)

Still here too! Usually check the forum every couple of days to see what’s been happening. I think I was either the 50 or 51st member when the forum first started. I can’t remember exactly when but it must have been approx 20 years ago.

I used to own a 16v when it was only a few years old. It came with the red badge on the grill.

A link would be good. I saw the one in JMR a couple of years ago when my Golf was in for a service.
-
I may be interested. How easy are they to fit?

A new fuel pump has worked the trick and the Corrado is 100%. I only covered 58 miles since the MOT. Pleased to say it passed with no advisories again. Must attempt to do more miles this year.

Metal hair clip for removing pins from electric connectors. I have the Laser tool and found the hair clip tip to be more effective. Nice guide on YouTube.

1979 Kawasaki Z1000 owned since 1982 and a ZZR600. Used to ride in all weathers now I’ve gone soft and only ride when the weather is good.

Location and pics will greatly help. Good luck with the sale.

And again, two needed.

ive just bought a BMC cda from a chap on the forum he used it for 600 miles, I heard there's a bolt hole on the tensioner guide, has anyone fitted it to there is it a secure fit.Regards
Marc
I used one of the existing bolts on the tensioner to secure an L shaped bracket to the BMC bracket. No issues to report after fitting over 10 years ago.

Lol I think if someone is tail gating you metal claws come out to puncture their tyres.Do you get the sideburns to look the part?

Loving the Wolverine rear bumper!!!

Zinc coating prior to powder coating is a good idea. Plastic coating has better chip resistance, however it is more expensive.

Do the dash front speaker grills four corner tabs fix the front speakers into the round dashboard housing through the corners of the speaker ? Thanks .
I believe you will need to remove or bend up two of the opposing tabs to fit the Alpines.

If you manage to find leather seats, make sure you get the complete heated seat loom, 2 relays and switch which are also really hard to get hold of.

That’s worth far more in parts. Please up you asking price so it doesn’t get broken!

If I remember correctly the Pierburg is round where as the VDO is D shaped.

Chaps , sorry to put this post up . BUT . Can I have the correct link to the jp pump and can you confirm that the sender fits . I’ve had fuel problems today and I’m sure the pump is knackered. I need to order it now. Also , reading through this the pierburg is the early style ?, that’s what is on the car now , so I’m presuming the float will not fit the new pump .JP’s Tech Dept advised me that they do not manufacture a 4 bar pump suitable for a VR6. This is why I went for the John’s Pump in the end. The VDO sender fits the john’s Pump perfectly.

I have just fitted the Johns pump, swapping the VDO fuel sender and fuel tank lid. It is a perfect fit and works exactly how it should. The second Pierburg Pump which was fitted second hand last year was showing signs of the rubber seals going into melt down. I guess it’s just a case of time before all original Pierburg pumps go that way.
For £40 delivered I would highly recommend the Johns pump which comes with a 2 year warranty.

Pleased to report I’m still here despite the VR not wanting to start at the moment. I have been advised that new Lambda sensor will address the issue. Not a nice job to do on the drive.
