WVWZZZ50ZRK004512 1994- ThanksWhat year is your chassis number ? -
Have never seen one yet, but I'm sure they're available somewhere. I'll have a look and see if there's a part number on it.The part number is 1H0906091C. A quick search comes up with quite a few results except the part number ends in a different letter. Any ideas if the last letter makes a difference? Thanks.

I went for the VDO pump as it was 4 bar and the Bosch was only 3 bar, it only cost me £135.00 plus delivery , they must of made a price error and they honoured it :dance:I went for pump and sender just because I don't mind changing any part that is over 20 years old and can cross it off the part could easily fail list.
Here is the cheapest I could find today.
Thanks. I have pulled a spare VDO pump apart today. The pump sounds a bit sticky. I vale a Pierburg Pump fitted at the moment which is being temperamental. The Pierburg pumps look to be sealed units unlike the VDO ones. It would be good if I could just replace the pump in the VDO unit.
-
Which Pump did you go for? The VDO one is over £290!Thanks Fen.I've managed to find this but I have used this company before and they have a .co.uk website but take ages to deliver and are in fact based in Germany.
Not a bad price for both pump and sender.
Im going to see if VDO UK can match their prices as their HQ is located in Birmingham and I can just collect them as they will have to order in from Germany but only two days, also any problems I can just pop them back to them rather then sending back to Germany.

VDO UK also do all the single platform instuments.

Do you know if is it possible to buy the pump on its own? Here's some more pics, showing the different parts of the VDO pump - left to right, full pump body with swirl pot, sender unit, swirl pot and pump disassembled, pump body and then the complete unit. -
Welcome to the forum. It’s fairly quiet on here compared to a few years ago. Still a good place to be with some very knowledgeable people.
-
I have never seen a light fitted from factory despite the fact that the fittings are there. Perhaps a bit of last minute cost saving?
-
Good work. How did you manage to get such a good finish?

I had a laugh today at this......Over £300 for a pair wiper arms and blades? Someone is having a laugh!!
Looks like eight sets have been sold. Someone is in for a good Christmas.

Its still going strong then Martin! I know what you're saying and I may well look at something a bit older. I'm not fussed about power though tbh, as I'm constantly trying to eek out an extra MPG! It would be nice to have a few mod cons though, and don't really want to have to worry about fixing things over the next 3 years. Thats all the car would be likely to last before it gets moved on due to the mileage and things needing replacing. The Passat had an awful lot of advisories at the last MOT, and though the plan was to replace bits here and there, I couldn't be arsed and it'll cost about 1k in parts to sort. Just seems like dead money considering its only worth that anyway. The map gave improved economy as well as extra power when I need it. Not that I am power obsessed, but it’s nice to have it when you need it. I have driven a few new french and German low powered so called eco cars as hire cars and they don’t return the economy you would necessarily expect. French cars are made of cheese

Sean,
I know I am biased but Mk1 Fabia VRS are very reliable, cheap to maintain , eat up the miles and can be mapped to around 180 bhp. I could average around 60 - 65 mpg on mt 17 mile commute.
-
I would be interested too.

Not sure what your fault may be but maybe check fuel filter and fuel pressure at injector rail ?Spotted your car the other day in Lovedean btw, looking very good :)
Thanks for the compliment.
A new fuel filter was fitted a couple of weeks ago. Checking the fuel pressure will have to be the next step. Everything runs as it should once fuel is in the system. I have ordered a NRV to see if that helps.

You sure the builtin "non-return" valve works - check my answer in this thread (with pic):The symptoms sound similar cold start is really bad. Is there a way to check the fitted non-return valve is working?
The Corrado flew though it’s MOT again. No advisories.
-
It’s been a long time since I have updated the thread. The Corrado has gone in for its MOT today. I has decided that it likes a lot a cranking before it wants to start. I have recently fitted a replacement in tank fuel pump and relay. Any ideas on what to look for next?
Thanks.

Dave, Could you give me a price please for a timing belt kit and water pump? Vehicle reg PJ11OOW. It would need to be posted as I am way down South.Hi Dave,
Thanks again for suppling these parts. I now need some parts for my 2012 T5.1 van. The battery cover which is usually only fitted to T5.1 California and Caravelle models and also a leather gear knob and 6 speed cover which fits on the top.
Cheers!

Not sure which product is the best as I have only used the aerosol http://www.flyingshop.com/acf-50-aerosol-13oz/
So far I have used it on my bike and on the brake lines of my Golf and Corrado. For the past few years the Golf had an MOT advisory for lightly corroded brake lines. No advisory this year after using ACF 50.
I purchased it from Ebay as it worked out cheaper than buying locally.
-
ACF 50 is really good stuff. I use it on my motor bike to keep corrosion at bay. Check out the reviews on the web.

Haha, standard models posing for ShutterStock pictures special!Girls like that wouldn't last 5 minutes in a garage with all the inserting of greased shafts into slippery flange jokes....
Why are they MOTing what looks to be a new car?
-
Ron,
I have visited their workshops and met with the owner. IIRC they do not stock a full range of colours as they are more of a general powder coating company and not wheel refurbishment specialists. They also use a third party to remove and re-fit the tyres. For this reason I opted for the Wheel Specialist in Fareham. I would probably use them if I had other vehicle parts to refurbish where the finish was not so critical.

Lovely car and as always love what you do to them. Similar plan of action for my newly acquired VR6.And to answer your question on what we're all driving now, my daily driver is a 2011 Skoda Octavia VRS estate TDI in Racing Blue. Such a great car to drive. 170bhp and plenty of torque so fast enough to keep me entertained and also great on fuel. plus the handling is incredible. Gone round some corners at speeds I was surprised by and it just stuck to the ground.
I have the same model and I was going to sell it within a month of buying. I decided to have it remapped and it's a completely different car, more torque, Power and better MPG. 25K later and all is good. No VAG recalls for me thanks.

Thanks. Just ordered one. Good old Ebay.

Replacement Fuel Pump - VR6, 2015 and onwards

I already have a VDO sender which will save a few ££’s, May have a gamble and see if I can replace the pump itself - there are pumps listed for around £20.
