  1. Thanks again

Jon catch us up at a meet/show, maybe players?

Abdul if you're tucking you have to chop part of the arch liner from the - position where it meets the arch. What tyres are you running? pm me if you want more info. The extra ground clearance on 17's is just whats needed on a daily 8)

  2. I was sick of the gold myself, the silvers nice and discreet so doesn't draw as much attention when i'm driving about. The silver rs's on my car are my merc ones i have run along, they have a slightly higher offset than 301's which mean i can run them as 8's and have them nicely inside the arches. The 301's i had were sold some time ago and should appear on a nice Irish corrado at some point :)

  3. Thanks again guys, the 8 holes have now gone to a good home i just took the opportunity to run them while i was carrying out my refurb. RS's are for keeps and will be the last thing to go when i decide to sell the car. They are not as bad to maintain as it seems and the drive on them is really good, much better than most other 17's as they are quite a light wheel.

As for the car its on 190k now as it’s my main car, the front end was resprayed a few years ago but the rest of the paint is factory. When I first got the car I had all the small dents taken out by a local paint less dent removal guy and stone chips or scratches were touched up, flatted back with wet and dry then machine polished back up by my brother who’s handy with a makita rotary polisher. The paintwork is more than presentable and is in a lot better condition than most other corrados with even half the mileage. No rust, straight panels and clean paintwork. The front drivers side bumper bracket has broken so the alignment of the bumper to the wing on that side is currently out but i have a replacement bracket to fit which will resolve the issue.

  4. Well i made it to edition with the car, didn't get many pics myself so heres what i could find from the Saturday. The car was machine polished with a rotary and menzerna final finish by my brother the week before so the paint is pretty fresh.

I recently refurbed my rs's by repolishing the lips and centre nut and getting the centres powder coated in a bright silver, heres a pic of the rebuilt up

I managed to get the wheels fitted to the car and the ride height adjusted on Saturday evening and heres the pics from Sunday on the rs's

  5. As above helpers are only there to take up slack when the strut is at full drop, if you have your platforms that high up removing them won’t be an issue as the main spring will still be under some tension. It will lower your ride height by the thickness of the helper spring when fully compressed so say 20mm. i don't see the benefit of removing them as the main spring will still be under the same compression when the car is on the ground regardless of the helpers being in there. Only when the car is raised and the strut is at full drop will the main spring be under less compression.

  6. I've tried Googling the error codes but anyone else who's had them have had other faults at the same time and when they cure them they are all fixed! Nothing so far has linked in with the pedal :( Hopefully Vince will have some ideas!

Meanwhile I thought I'd post some pics of 'The Daily' as gave it a good clean yesterday and thought it deserved some appreciation. Not a bad daily, certainly better than the Mk2 Polo Squareback I had last year  It's not perfect though, something is dodgy causing the turbo to just come in whenever it feels like it and only at about half boost when it does, so it's gutless at the min :( comfy though and quiet 8)

Nice daily, your power issues are most likely coked up vanes in the turbo. Search Innotec Turbo Cleaner in google and you will find its a common issue with vag diesals.

  7. i think easypops is referring to the clutch release lever that the release bearing attaches too. Which i remember was fine when we fitted the box. The gear selector forks are inside the box and i'm not sure how you would check those. I remember playing about with the gear selector before the box was fitted and it was selecting gears okay, so its strange its not working now.
