STORM 2

possible cause for running high temps?

Recommended Posts

Found out that my auxiliary drive belt ( the one connecting the accessory radiator fan to the main fan) is missing - putting one fan out of action with obvious cooling difficulties.

Trawled through Bentley and ETKA and identified two main belts associated with the VR cooling system:

1. Drive belt as described above ( called the V Belt in Bentley!) part no 1H0 119 137 A

2. Ribbed V Belt part no.021 145 933C

can someone intelligent confirm that I am on the right track here?

If anyone's replaced the 'drive belt' - howmuch?

cheers

Damn good question. I've been told it's "a few quid" from VW. It's even less from a scrappy, mind.

I suspect the "ribbed V-belt" is the alternator belt, which drives the water pump ......

(pause whil i dig through my parts pile)

In fact I just checked with the one I got recently - yep, the V belt is the alternator belt.

i dunno if I qualify as "intelligent", but there you go.. ;)
