Aux Water Pump check

Hello,

 

Had a new aux water pump and header tank fitted today, tried my best to get it as hot as possible to check for leaks and nothing- Great :D

 

Thing is i always feel a bit uneasy when things are 'easy' with the corrado- got me thinking- how do I know the aux water pump is working?

 

I remember it gurgling the coolant throught the pipes every now and then but it certainly wasn't every day or even every week. My Corrado runs a little cold but how can I check it is working :?:, how often does it come on with other peoples corrados.

 

I have already tried geting the water as hot as possible- but it just won't go over 100- the fans just kick in and bring it straight back down :cry:

Does it run quite slowly then. I can't feel it buzzing when the ignition comes on? I thought it actually came on after you had switched off a hot engine- and it just switched on thermostatically to counter heat soak :?

If it's buzzing/whirring, it's working :lol:

 

It's does also come on, as you say, when the engine is off if the after-run program is triggered (100 deg or higher).

It does both, and yes it's almost inaudible in most cases, unless you stick your head next to it.

Aye your right. Tried it with the ignition on but engine off and I can now hear it buzzing.

 

You know I almost feel unhappy if there isn't at least one thing wrong with my Corrado :) mad eh!

Spare a thought for me then, who has replaced *everything*! How bored do you think I'll be when I reach that pinnacle of my Corrado career when absolutely nothing is wrong? I'll have to sell it and buy a ropey old banger and start over, LOL!

 

When that day comes, I am going to erect a Monolith in-front of my bubble wrapped 100% fully operational Corrado for the world to see that it *is* possible!
