Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 29, 2004 On a standard engine you're not going to notice much, if anything, but on a modded engine you might gain a small bit.
pablo_vr6 0 Posted December 29, 2004 the decat on my VR seemed to liven things up a little. see the odd TT hiflow cat FS on vortex - is this a common "upgrade"?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 29, 2004 Hmmm... might have to look into that then. Mine is bloomin quick with the standard cat, exhaust and paper air filter, but it's the mechanical mods that make the real difference, not the superficial ones like filters and exhausts. A20 LEE 0 Posted December 29, 2004 the decat on my VR seemed to liven things up a little. see the odd TT hiflow cat FS on vortex - is this a common "upgrade"? Mine too, picks up quicker suggesting a torque increase and about 15% more noise from the exhaust with a supersprint cat bypass which has a small silencer built into it. coolrado 0 Posted December 29, 2004 the cheapest way to de-cat is smash the internals of your cat out with a big metal bar
