theRuler 0 Posted February 1, 2005 my long running misfire problems have been narrowed down. the lambda is fine, the exhaust gases all ok, the airflow meter is ok its either the coil pack, or simply the leads!! last night i found the one was arcing every minute or so is the coil pack expensive? dr_mat 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Um, yeah. Kinda. Cheaper than a new engine though. Have a shufty at GSF, think the coil pack is around £140. Leads are available OE-style from a few places, but a full set of quality leads is going to cost around £60-£80 minimum. VW dealer will sell individual leads though, so you could just replace the faulty one.
theRuler 0 Posted February 1, 2005 any better than OE aftermarket leads that can be recommended? i'll have a look at gsf for the coil pack, nice one
Funkster 0 Posted February 2, 2005 115.50 plus vat from gsf from the coil pack, and I chose to buy Blue Igniter HT leads and they seem to be very well made - £86 including delivery and tax.
Son of a Beesting 0 Posted February 2, 2005 I got Bahn Brenner ones from the states. Cost about £70 including delivery and they use OE connectors so will have a good connection. VW wanted £100 for a set of new OE leads!!
