Parked up at the pub and a guy in the beer garden was practically jizzing over my car. He was ammusingly being very theatrical about it. He said he nearly bought one a few years back and has regretted not doing so ever since and that seeing mine makes him want to make some space at home and just get one in the near future.

It was nice to not only have compliments but actual adoration for the old girl :)

so my corrado has had its day in the sun....

my daughter asked if i could take her and a friend to the prom, americanised nonsense i thought....yeah no worries

took them for a spin first and made sure she was clean, well, a good 200 people were out side the entrance gated off like a full blown red carpet event....i was typically under dressed for such an occasion!

the paparazzi (presumably from the school and local paper) went nuts to the point i was blind driving, then they made us get out take shots of the car take shots of the girls with the car, a bloke approached me and said, man i haven't seen one of these in ages, looks good

i must admit I'm quite a shy reserved type, and i don't really like attention, but the corrado was soaking it up like a good 'un

as i left parting the crowd people still taking photos of me in the car (i dread to think what my face looks like) a bloke leant down to the earshot of his son and said.....see that, thing of beauty!

needless to say i gave him a little rev as i parted!

Two recently.

I was at the inlaws when the nurse arrived to do his antibiotics drip. She walked in and said what a beautiful car the corrado was that was parked outside.

This evening, whilst working on drive, a chap and his son were walking their dog on the other side of the road. He said to his son, "that guy has my all time favourite car", and then crossed the road and chatted about his old valver.

Three over the weekend, one from a (slightly pished) guy at a work do telling me I have 'great taste in cars' - he drives a Caterham so well pleased! One from a new owner I had to rescue less than 100m from my house - just bought a 16v and one of the wheels had fallen off - and then one of my neighbours tried to buy it off me this afternoon. Not bad for a car that hasn't budged in weeks which keeps flattening batteries

When putting some fuel in the car the other day. Shouted from across the forecourt;

"Oi Mate! Nice Scirocco! I used to have one of them years ago! Ace car!"

"Thanks, Don't see too many of them around these days" was all I could muster!

One of those situations where you later come up with all the smart-arse replies you could have said :D

I would have said then you'll know that it's a corrado NOT a scirroco!

I had a "nice car love" shouted to me on Wednesday while parking her up. And in a supermarket last week I parked (slightly deliberately) next to a Mk1 golf that had admittedly seen better days. A guy drove by in his mk4 and stopped he car and had a good look (at both cars, but mainly the Rado) then drove slowly away looking back as he went.

I was out cleaning the Corrado today and my regular postman gave it the big thumbs up. Said my Storm was in great condition and he's always liked Corrados. Apparently a 16v lives nearby on another part of his round.

Had a great thumbs up today from my local main dealer at Hereford when took my car in for a service .... But went sour I asked him about costing a bonnet respray (then he said though about getting it done white...) didn't have the spirit to tell him it was a storm and the importance of keeping it stock. Had to tell him what a storm was..

I was slightly puzzled to see an elderly gent bending down peering closely at the back of my car as I returned to it after work last night (and a little concerned, hoping it had not been hit again). Turns out he was trying to read the badge to see what it was as he thought it was a "beautiful car" and how he liked the wheels etc and I should be proud. Spent about 5 mins chatting to him as he said he always owned Golfs and how much he used to "enjoy driving them round the back roads like something out of the WRC" :)

Went to Goodwood Revival with some of the folks here on Friday. Driving down, I got a thumbs up from a mk2 Golf and then on Saturday, 2 chufties! As I left the hotel, a couple walked by with their dogs and I said 'nice Dalmatians' (always been a fan) and he replied 'nice Corrado'! Had a lovely long chat with them both and discovered she is thinking about buying one so I mentioned the forum. He said he's always been a VW fan but despite wanting to, has never owned a Corrado so he was trying to convince her as well. Then I stopped to look round the local area and when I left, I heard a lad telling his mate was a nice car it is and proceeded to have a long chat with him too. Just a shame that my car is in an absolute state at the moment - it's a long way off being a good advert...

Went to a Lotus trackday/dinner meet last Saturday, in my Corrado, and everyone commented that they like the Corrado G60. Then met the best tuner here in Denmark, and he smiled all over when he saw it, and came over to chat. Then offered some tuning parts etc in a box, so I guess I will pay him a visit ;) And see his 800Hp Lotus Elise in the same time ;)

Cheers,

Redfox ;)

I was in stop/start traffic on town yesterday when a lad in a silver newish golf coming in the opposite direction gestured for me to wind down my window. He asked if the C was mine I said yes and he asked if I was selling, I told him no way and laughed and he said he just loved it so much :)

Wow, he must have liked it to stop traffic coming the other way behind him!

It's the third person I've had ask if she is sale in 6 months, I just wish it would happen when I have a friend within earshot, it may stop their mockery over my car obsession ;-)

I had a thumbs up from from an 'older' (looked mid-70s in age) gentleman as I overtook him on my way to work yesterday.

He was diving a mk2 escort rally prepped, spots, massive fat wheels and rally decals, looked lovely but he was driving it very carefully!

Only problem now is if actually want one, I couldn't part with the C for one though.

Had the car serviced at The Phirm today and the mechanic said it was the best standard VR6 he'd driven. I wonder if they say that to all their customers!
