superhans 0 Posted February 20, 2005 Hello i am the new happy owner of a 2.0l 16v c but have a few problems. The first being the oil pressure warning light. It doesn't work, possibly just the LED, but a homemade light has been fitted into the dash just by the ABS light and fog lights etc. I have traced this light to the white coloured sensor above the oil filter. Is this the correct sensor? The light does come on when the ignition is turned and goes off when the engine is started but i'm just a bit worried about my oil pressure not being right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also the dash lights behind the milage and MFA sections do not light any suggestions. Many thanks.
Supercharged 2 Posted February 20, 2005 superhans, Welcome to the forum... That sounds ok, the light should come on as a test then go off... Looks like the original circuit in the instrument cluster was dead and someone has wired there own up... better than nothing! Maybe same probs affecting the lights... superhans 0 Posted February 20, 2005 Cheers for that. But what are the brown and white sensors above the oil filter?
Supercharged 2 Posted February 20, 2005 One is oil pressure, one is temp - can't remember which is which tho!
Henny 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Supercharged, not on a valver they're not... ;) Both the brown and the white sensors are oil pressure sensors superhans... (oil temp is on the side of the head on a valver... ;) )
MikeVR6 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Do you mean the mileometer and MFA are displaying ok, just don't illuminate with the other dash lights? If so, theres two standard little dash lights that screw into the back of the clock unit. Remove the clocks (daunting but straighforward) and take the bulbs down to Halfords to make sure you get the right ones.
