inline fuel guage

bought a little fuel pressure guage, that is just put in between the fuel pipe but which hose do i put it into, either:

 

pipe from pump to fuel pressure reg

or

pipe leaving fuel rail going back to tank

Depends on where you want to measure pressure mate, if you want to measure how much pressur ethe pumps supplying then you want to put it in before the pressure reg, if you want to see how quickly its goin back to the tank the on the pipe leaving the fuel rail although im assuming this isnt under much pressure its just the fuel being pushed back so would be minimal, id go with before the pressure reg, see how well the pump is doing.

 

On a side not where did you get it and how much did it cost? Its another thing ive always fancied. Oh and any pics mate??

The fuel returning to the tank will surely be at (or very very close to) the pressure that the fuel pressure regulator is set to. Before the fuel pressure regulator seems the obvious and sensible mounting point.

 

I'm interested in this gauge too as I'm sure I have a fuel pressure problem. Any details would be good.

dont know if these filter/regulater types would be any good?

 

got it off ebay(again! :roll: ) just tried a search but cant find any???

 

edit:dont think the gauge should be permanently attatched?

have some pics but can't post as can't do it! it cost me £30 from HSL racing aircooled company, seen at most aircooled shows watch this space and i'll try to work out how to post pics

you want to see the pressure in the fuel rail.

 

why on earth would you want to know the pressure of the fuel going back to the tank???
