Supercharged Junkie 0 Posted February 27, 2005 Hi I replaced the front shocks on my 92 J G60 about 2 years ago now and never really been happy with them to be honest, they made the front of the car look higher Just found the old invoice for the them, typed the GSF part number(45557A) into GSF website and it came up with front shock for a VE 1.9 Diesel & Turbo Diesel 1/92 > WTF? I take it i have had the wrong shocks on the front all this time thats why it didn`t feel right :x Should have GSF Part No. 45560 Right :?: Could someone check that am not going  and that is the shocks for a 92 J Corrado G60 Cheers Ian

davidwort 0 Posted March 3, 2005 Cheers, Still can`t work out the GSF description system... Changing all the springs and rear shocks so would be nice to know that the fronts are the correct shocks for my car before i do it Thanks Ian I've not had great experience of GSF parts being totally correct, not bad in most cases but in a number of nistances it seems more like 'if the part physically fits' it's listed for a model This is how I got sold shocks that were wrong and a radiator that's designed for an 8v carb car and not a 16v and I always clearly state the mdel and year of my car. Be very carful that pattern parts match exactly the spec for your model of vehicle, I'm not saying Euro car parts or anyone else (including VAG) don't make similar mistakes, but it's safer to compare the old VAG part when buying any new one, even genuine VAG, bearing in mind that parts get superceeded too. Shocks are very difficult as there are so many options that look physically the same. David.
stevemac 0 Posted March 3, 2005 45560 – Corrado front Shocker (not VR) £42.50 + vat 45557A – Golf MK2 & MK3 front Shocker £28.00 +vat Looks like the shockers that you have are Golf ones... :(
