dav 0 Posted March 9, 2005 Are the fittings, bracket wise the same on a G60 MK2 as they are on a MK2 16v? Thanks D.
steveo29 0 Posted March 9, 2005 yes any 16v will bolt on..on my orig g60 system i had one too many brackets, but yeah it all fits straight on with no mods or trouble ive ran a 16v vag system and now have a ss jetex
g-dub 0 Posted March 9, 2005 mine doesn't fit ok, knocks constantly, tried to resolve but can't gonna heat and bend the pipe some time, all brackets bar the center one fitted but something on the underneath of the 16v is different to the 8v sure its the fuel tank or sumit
dav 0 Posted March 10, 2005 So from the sounds of it I could fit a Golf G60 Exhaust system to 16V Golf, but I may have some fitting problems but it will fit? Thanks D.
Henny 0 Posted March 10, 2005 the Golf G60 has the larger synchro tunnel... I have no idea if this will affect the exhaust fitment, but I just thought you should be aware that there's a bit more room under a Golf G60 than a valver... :|
dav 0 Posted March 10, 2005 I thought that might be a problem, but as long as it fits… The only reason I have to go down this route is that for some stupid reason Supersprint only do the DTM, Twin Magnum (90 mm) and EVO back box design for the Golf 16V now, but still do the better designs for the G60 golf? steveo29 0 Posted March 10, 2005 it FITS , if its knocking then its not fitted right...ive had my g60 for 5 years and had 2 x16v systems on there any mk2 golf exhaust will knock on the rear beam if its not fitted very well
