VEEDUBBED 0 Posted April 3, 2005 Hello all, I'm almost finished with my latest project engine a 2000cc 9A 16v corrado motor equipped with a G-charger. A few things i noticed while building up the engine: The 9A's inlet cam is identical to a 1800cc golf/corrado 16v's cam, regardless of year i got the impression that the 'KR's inlet had more lift?,not so... The 9A's oil pump is identical to a 1800 G60 oil pump, same part numbers. The 9A's ISV is the same as an 'ABV' VR6's one. If i see anything else worthy,i'll post it up. flusted 0 Posted April 4, 2005 The 9a and kr cams ARE DIFFERENT! 9a cam has 8.9mm lift kr has 9.6mm lift.Wicked engine though
ANDY16V 0 Posted April 4, 2005 I have a 2.0l 16v and i'm keen to get more bhp, i was originally considering the 1.8T conversion, how does the G60 conversion compare, is itr alot cheaper/ easier to do?
mrbeige 0 Posted April 4, 2005 I would say not, IMO. I've looked into both conversions, and the 1.8T conversion appears to be a lot easier as no real modifications to the engine is necessary, but the conversion to G60 on a 16v, 9A engine is a lot more involved, with compression ratio changes etc etc etc..... Just my 2p's worth though
Karoliz 0 Posted April 4, 2005 Very nice work!!! Great project!! It would be great to see more details: what modifications was done to engine (pistons, etc), what other parts did you need to make this modification?
