Which tires to choose?

I’m gonna buy a new summer tires and found a very good offer.

 

The tires that I can choose are:

Toyo Proxes T1-R or Good Year Eagle F1 GS D3

 

Which one to choose?

 

(195/50 VR15 for C 1.8i 16V)

i got the toyo t1-Rs on my mk2 golf and they are brill best tire i have tryed

I have 205/40/17 Eagle F1's and without doubt the best tyre I could have chosen.

 

Apparently much better grip than the Toyos.

I think I read that the F1 GSD3's don't come in that size.....anyone?

Yeah F1 GSD3s aren't available in 205/50/15, but not sure about 195/50/15 though.

 

The new Yoko advans are supposed to be very good, better than the F1s according to some.

yep, GSD3's are available in 195's - quite cheep too...

Had some of the Yoko A043 (i think) Advans and i recon the toyo's are better handling wet and dry but the ABS seems to step in alot earlier than it used to. Not so confident on the brakes, could be unrelated to tyres though. Yoko's only lasted about 4000miles (very kind estimate), and at £75.00 per tyre I needed a change.

btw standard tyre size for the 1.8 16v is 185/50's if that helps any.......doubt it tho as thats quite a rare tyre size at any rate

as it was Mr vr6storm that told me to go up to 195/50/15 for your splits m8

 

If you check your little manual it has both sizes in there,Its Like £20 of a differance for the two sizes,with the 195 being the Cheaper 8)

I had the GSD3's on my BMW BBS's and they were superb. You get a bit of road noise of them but the wet AND dry grip was phenominal...

I order the GS D3's. There are little pricey (in my country) - but I wanted them from the previous year.

 

But still think that and the Toyo's are also great tires

how do the gsd3's last???? im considering a set , but i like to get good milage from my tyres
