fla 9 Posted April 6, 2005 I've got Andis white dials on my clocks and i'm in the process of redoing the blue leds behind them again. I've just seen these Cold Cathode kits which look pretty simple and seem to give out lots of light - anyone had any expereince with them and what would be the suggestions? I've had a little "chat" on another thread about something similar but that was off-topic hence this new thread. What I'm looking to do is to bung these behind the clocks instead of having a line of leds on a some circuit board. gradeAfailure 0 Posted April 6, 2005 I bought some of these in blue and in red for work - they are cheap and cheerful,but they aren't too flimsy and they do the job! The cathodes are probably a bit big to fit behind the dash (I was gonna use mine to light the footwells - too tacky?) but have just discovered that the light units come apart, and the cathode element itself is 110mm long and only 5mm in diameter, so it might well fit... My bad - have just been playing around with them and have noticed that the cathode elements have a wire running down the side of them which will be at a rather high voltage :shock: so I don't think you'll be able to fit them behind the dash as they're a bit too bulky otherwise...
