Supercharged 2 Posted July 7, 2003 I need to renew my cover.... What do people recomend, I'm looking at directline, green flag, RAC etc All seem to be about the same price for basic cover...
kevlar 0 Posted July 7, 2003 when i was looking into it the AA seemed to be the best option for value and cover. just depends what you are looking for really. here's a link for them and a few others http://www.theaa.com/services/breakdowncover/index.html http://www.rac.co.uk/breakdowncover/ http://uk.directline.com/rescue/welcome.htm
Linus Van Pelt 0 Posted July 7, 2003 I've been with the AA ever since I passed my test with them. I've had to call them out twice whilst I've owned the C, and both times they managed to fix it at the scene. I've only got the basic roadside cover which for about £40 a year isn't too bad... If you have a mobile they text you when the truck gets near & they seemed pretty clued up by asking me questions about the problem before the chap arrives... 2p DtM. stormseeker 0 Posted July 7, 2003 RAC have had some bad press recently about pushing un-neccessary battery sales on punters. link to Watchdog article
Supercharged 2 Posted July 7, 2003 Ok, cheers guys... I may go AA this time as there the bigger organisation - may be better at diagnosing/fixing probs and don't seem to cost any more for the one vehicle... Any other experiences before I part with the cash anyone??
Furkz 0 Posted July 7, 2003 i was with the AA for 3 years and the only thing that really pi55ed me off when i needed them was that if u have a crash they will rescue you but charge u for call out costs and towing. They even TRIED to charge me for a wrench to pull my car out of a wall. This really got my goatee coz this was the main reason i went with them. I am know with the RAC has they do exactly the same cover as the AA but with the option to rescue you if u crash and its £2 cheaper if u do it in pairs like get ur mum/girlfriend or dad on one policy and works out bit cheaper. jus my 2p's worth......... Rams 0 Posted July 9, 2003 AAIGHT, If you are TPFT you dont have to pay the AA for recovering you from an accident, providing its on the road, or near teh highway then you will be fine. If your fully comp, they re claim it back through your insurance company. I had an accident and they said I would get an invoice for 6o quid or something and at the time I didnt care, I just wanted the car taken to the body shop and parked outside so he had to make a start on it to be able to get into his work shop!! If you did pay it, try and claim it back if it wasnt that long ago, or remember for next time, but there wont be a next time ey! :D
