Golf G60 Intercooler Fitting?

I ve just purchased a golf g60 intercooler form Ving60, i am looking to fit it myself, has anyone got any tips on fitting this setup to my corrado g60? Am i likely to need an angle grinder? :)

i fitted a rallye intercooler to mine and needed to remove the towing eye but that was about it! looked like it wouldnt fit but went in a treat!! there really isnt much room in there!!

you dont need to remove the towing eye, you need to trim it, once you cut it back have a plate welded back in to put some strength back into it.

Makes a huge difference!

with a GOLF G60 intercooler, you only need to flatten down the passengerside lower slam panel retaining lug (normally has a bolt in it) so that it'll clear the intercooler by the battery and to file off the HUGE fin type thing on the front of the intercooler to get it to fit into a corrado... It's dead easy to do...

 

Personally, I'd advise taking out the slam panel so that you can line it up nicely and see where it's making contact and in need of the intercooler filing/grinding back... 8)

See attached pic of how it all mates together. Someone should put together a fitting sheet with step by step instructions. You could do it mike_g60 ;-)

I'll be doing some photos of what needs doing shortly when I swap the engine over from J-DUB into H-YYU... ;)
