ssrai 0 Posted June 29, 2005 I have a '95 (M) 2L corrado but would like more power. The car itself is in tip top shape and I don't wish to sell it. Would it be feasible to fit a VR6 engine into the corrado? i can't really see it as being a problem..... does anyone know of a company offering this service? if so, how much would it cost? could any other engines be put into the corrado? Henny 0 Posted June 29, 2005 Depends on how you want to do it... If you want it to be as factory, then bare in mind that the VR6 used a different front suspension setup to the 4 cylinder Corrados... To do the conversion as per factory, you'd be looking at changing the brakes, suspension, subframes, engine, gearbox, wiring loom and probably a load of other bits too... How about a 20VT conversion? There's loads of people doing these now and they're relatively cheap/easy to do and to get some good power out of... 8) Or, you could go really over the top, and get an R32 engine dropped in! 8)
benkenobi57 0 Posted June 29, 2005 How about a 20VT conversion what is this conversion u speak of?? tell me more
ssrai 0 Posted June 29, 2005 cheers for the info, what type of money are we talking about for a full 20VT or R32 conversion? plus which garages offer this service?
dinkus 10 Posted June 29, 2005 R32 conversion will quite easily set you back £4k in parts alone, then at least that again in labour if you're paying someone to do it. And that's if you can find an R32 engine in the first place... No idea on a 20VT transplant, but give Stealth Racing a call and see what they say. Henny 0 Posted June 29, 2005 Voodoo motorsport or Designa dubs do the 20VT transplants lots at the moment and both have good reputations within the Club GTI circle and on Dubforce.net... 8)
bix 0 Posted July 1, 2005 Not a problem if you could do it yourself, but omfg 4 grand  thats shocking, who'd spend 4 grand a 20VT conversion?
Rossco 0 Posted July 2, 2005 My guess would be someone who wanted a 20VT lump and had saved up 4 grand, just a guess like
