chris g 0 Posted July 7, 2005 I've found a company that can refurb my 2.0 16v head. They can do it to stage 3, 4 or 5. Stage 3 is fully recon'd with new guides, tripple cut valves, ported and polished. This is £560 Stage 4 is as above but with stainless oversized inlet valves £?? Stage 5 is as above but with stainless oversized exhaust valves too £1000 Which should I go for and are these prices reasonable? Cheers
dazzyvr6 0 Posted July 7, 2005 i didnt think there was enough room to fit oversized velves on the 16v head..i may be wrong but im sure thats what tsr told me when i enquired about one for my old golf
h100vw 0 Posted July 7, 2005 The problem is that when you make them fit the space between the seats get smaller and smaller and this adversely effects reliability. I would just go with the port, polish and 3 angle seats. Fairly certain to get 160 with that, more with cams. Gavin
chris g 0 Posted July 7, 2005 They are only .7mm oversized. Doesn't really seem worth double the price to me!! I'll go with the stage 3 I think. I've got a KR intel cam to go in and i've got a brand new exhaust manifold that i'm going to get matched to the head. What gains do the 50mm inlets give?
