ISV

Can some one tell me in its simplest form as to where i can find the ISV and also tell me what it does? Keep hearing on here to check that its cleaned out. SO im going to do mine seen as it sounds important.

ok had a look alst night. How the hell do you remove it? its got a crimped clip on the one end of it. My trouble is im too scared to havea go at removing things with out advice because im scared of breaking things!

if you have any jubilee clips/hose clamps knocking about,you can break the original clip off and replace with either of these.

 

once the pipe from isv is disconected from the inlet manifold and from the boost pipe,you need to disconect the leccy connector.

 

the isv will then slide off the inlet (towards front of car) ,and you need to then slide it to the left to release the rubber clip.

 

you should be able to see how it comes off,pretty straight forward.

never noticed this bit on mine,what is it?

 

That'd be a valve to stop the isv bleeding boost at high (1bar?) pressure!
