kebabman 0 Posted September 14, 2005 Bought myself a set of 16" track wheels. £15...and with that touch of bling. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1 Thing is I forgot to check into the PCD/Offset...are they going to fit? Suppose at that price it doesn't really matter...but it'd be nice. :?
dazzyvr6 0 Posted September 14, 2005 what corrado have you got?
chrishill 0 Posted September 14, 2005 PCD should be right but the offset might not be, i seem to remember them being et42 or something silly?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 14, 2005 The ET on those will be about 35 I reckon, which is fine on the VR.
chrishill 0 Posted September 14, 2005 http://www.autoguide.net/apf/volkswagen-wheels_rims/new_beetle-catalog.html no specs for the ones you've bought but the 6 spokers further down are et42
kebabman 0 Posted September 14, 2005 Thanks guys, I've got a VR. Looking at that link Chris posted, the 15" steels are ET38...but the 16" alloys are 42, weird. How will I know when I pick them up? Just fit them and see if they rub? Can I get spacers to make ET42's fit?
chrishill 0 Posted September 14, 2005 you could probably ring a dealer and ask TBH! whatever the offset they should still go on, they'll just rub, catch the arches or catch the struts! cant remember which way around offsets work (it is 5pm) so i'm not sure if you can space them... lower number sits closer to the hub? is that right? Henny 0 Posted September 14, 2005 lower number sits further out. The reason that the 16" are different offset from the 15" is 'cos the widths are different too... ;) If it's a 42mm offset, you can just lob in a 5mm spacer to make 'em ET38...
kebabman 0 Posted September 14, 2005 Excellent, I'm a bit crap with wheels, cheers Henny. 8)
