Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Amazing how much difference that's made mate I'm actually really liking them from the angle in your sig Yeh it is, they guys at RK couldn't believe it either. Well chuffed. And I knew i'd win you over just wait till you see them, even better in the flesh :)
Walesy 0 Posted August 4, 2006 P.S , if I was you, i'd keep your speedo's for future , they're mint and you won't get what they're worth IMO
Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I know, it's a tough one that. I'd probably regret selling them but buying the comp's has left me a bit short.. :? Also I can justify the new wheels to the missus a bit more if I sell the old ones, having said that she's been in and out of the garage and still not noticed the speedo's piled up!
steve_16v 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Looked great to begin with trig but it looks loads better now it's lowered 8) Wasn't too keen on the MO's on Kevs car but they seem to suit yours perfectly.
StuartFZR400 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Trig, perfect drop; better than the sh*te done to my car previously. Wheels are what I'd call a modern improvement on the standard - ie look great !! 16" is a perfect size! Im still looking.
Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Thanks mate. Modern improvement is exactly what i'm going for with the wheels, didn't want anything to fussy or blingy. They look like the solitudes only newer. I do think 16 is the best compromise, keeps the car looking standard but better. Apart from a few bits of paintwork that need touching up I have no more exterior modifications planned... Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Jim, Never seen many pics of your old G, just found this though... ...more than a slight resemblence! :)
Mave 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Your colour combination is perfect I must say trigger. Green with red lights is perfect, colour of the wheels really compliment it. Great stuff, I'd have it a tad lower though ;) :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 4, 2006 Yeah the MOs are very Speedline Comp2 esque!
mtc R32 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Looks very classy yet upto date.... Well done mate!!!

Jim 2 Posted August 4, 2006 Aye - you're right trig! Exactly what I thought when I saw your pics! Even down to the black VW roundel in the front grille.. those MO's are so similar to the Comp2's :)
VRTrickster 0 Posted August 11, 2006 Have you noticed any change in the ride qaulity at all? Im also thinking of going down the the 16s route and lowering it more, and I have the same suspension setup as you.
Phil K 0 Posted August 11, 2006 tbh I don't think 17's are that different to 16's... you're welcome to let me have a go and proove me wrong though trig ;) EDIT: of course you're more than wlecome to try for more than 30mpg in mine
Trig 0 Posted August 12, 2006 With the 16's it does feel a little more crashy at times but generally mot much different. The handling feels the same partly due to the comp's being quite light I think. The further lowering hasn't had much effect but it was only another 15mm all round. I don't expect 17's are that much different, just as 16's aren't much different to 15's but as they say, every little helps! Phil, you're welcome to have a go next time I see you, last time if you recall my car was not roadworthy... :x :)
