rayb74 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Hello all ! First of all the 16v(9A) does not have a MAF ? it is VR only I think. The story is this .... in the summer I gave my car a decat and a service then took it to vince for a RR sesh and it pumped out 147 BHP and vince said it was ok. All was good it ran like a dream I am very happy chappy.( Thx Stealth!) My car has always been a drinker but LATELY..... It has started to drink more and I am noticing that sometimes when I put my foot down it really pulls and other times it seems a bit gutless, lacking something. In the summer I replaced plugs, fuel filter, air filter, oil, Lambda probe, oil filter. Can any of you please let me know what you think it might be? The only fault codes I can find with vag-com is abs sensor !!
Supercharged 2 Posted December 16, 2005 Dizzy cap, rotor arm and leads are worth doing if never been changed before... maybe look for signs of arcing at night by spraying a mist of water of the leads if you think it's ignition related...
bcstudent 0 Posted December 16, 2005 I would have suggested the Lambda probe based on the comment about increased fuel consumption, but I see that's been changed. The fuel mixture richness is controlled by the differential pressure valve on the engine side of the fuel distributor - that may be worth a look. Another simple things to check is the full-load switch on the throttle body. That's about all I can think of regarding fuel mixture. The KE-Motronic system is pretty damn simple so there can't be *that* many candidates for the fault.
