Cnut 0 Posted December 22, 2005 I would love to see it done one day but I know it won't happen :( So what are your guesses?
VR6 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Quicker than the Suzuki and slower than the Veyron :D
catch_twotwo 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Depends on the Rado..... Some might not make it round I'm sure. Half way round we'd pull over to adjust something, or tinker with the timing a little...
Cnut 0 Posted December 22, 2005  Ok for sake of argument say a standard well maintained vr6
Yandards 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Quicker than the Suzuki and slower than the Veyron :D Be faster than a veyron as its not been around the Top Gear track.. :D
chrishill 0 Posted December 23, 2005 i dont think I could get out of the bottom 3rd of the leaderboard without alot of stiggy advice!
ZippyVR6 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Reckon most of us would struggle to beat Mr Mansell even in his Suki.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 23, 2005 I think you'd be surprised how slow the VR6 (standard) would be round that track! Anyone see 5th Gear a couple of weeks ago when they put the M3 (E30) and Delta Intergrale around Angelesy (sp?) as a feature on 'past heroes'? Both were barn stormers in their day but on 5th Gear's lap board, they were below a flippin Sport Ka!! How things have moved on..... Although Stiff Needle did say the Bimmer felt like it no longer had much of it's original 190hp left..... the Lancia was all over the shop, an understeery pig! Anyway....back on T.... I reckon the VR would pull a 1:38-1:40 in Stig's hands....and a 1:50 average for us......maybe a 1:45 for the more experienced....
Jim 2 Posted December 23, 2005 I reckon Stiggy could get it round in a fairly respectable time assuming that the suspension was nice and stiff and well setup, and the engine was in a good state of tune and healthy!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 23, 2005 Trouble is the VR is an understeery pig as standard, imo, and those tight bumpy bends could be it's undoing. Plus there aren't many places on the track where it can get on the cam at 4000rpm plus. TG need to find a proper track for testing!
VR6 0 Posted December 24, 2005 I tend to agree actually - the VR would struggle to get a *very* good time. Although, with a lot of frantic gear changing (and possibly a Schrick ;)) to keep it on power, I think a respectable time could be achieved. I'd absolutely love to give it a shot though!! GIXXERUK 0 Posted December 24, 2005 in standard form with its 4x4 stance i think it would wallow around the track, handling is just not sharp enough
