CRUNCH, What have I broken?

Recommended Posts

Reversing onto a mates drive I caught what looks to be a shield for the exhaust on the center post on the drive. Big graunching sound and im left with a bit that hangs loose and now catches on speedbumps. :(

What is it? and is it expensive?

Just the heatshield for the cat. Tin snips to cut the rest off. Remember not to park on any long grass in summer.

It's the heatshield for the cat. There to protect the cat from bumps and scrapes and also stops the hot exhaust igniting grass :)

Can just remove it but would be best to replace or repair.

Mine had 'one foot in the grave' and was making a really annoying reverberating noise at certain revs., couldn't work out what the noise was, eventualy realised it was the heatshield and bent it into place :)
