NickVR6 0 Posted January 9, 2006 Presure test as they dont allways show oil in water and water in oil signs i here? Im sure you knwo the obvious stuff and are more likely to be advising me than vice versa! Pres test anyway in my book, saves a lot of speculation and gives you a defo answer once and for all. FTM1975 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Yeah i would the definatlly a pressure test, also check inside your oil cap and on your dip stick for a whitish residue. this is a sure sign that water is getting in somewhere, also the oil in the oil filter may be a little creamy and the air filter may also show some tell tale signs. I just had a head rebuild on my valver, the mechanic told me a few more miles and it would have gone pop, but all fixed now with new cylider seals aswell, if you take it to the right place you are probally looking in the region of 400 quid or so. bcstudent 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Also, block tests are a five minute job at any garage with the kit. They test for the presence of exhaust gasses in the coolant.
