Meguiars How do you polish!!

Recommended Posts

okay boy and girls

Having tried a few Meguairs products over the past few week i'm impressed so

With the summer just arond the corner and the weather due to start picking up i figured its time to do the presummer polish.

With halfords doing that offer off spending £50 and getting £10 off next time your spend £10 or more i brought a few more Meguiars products.

So far i have the following

NXT Car Wash

Scratch X

NXT Tech Wax

Quik Detailer and Quick Clay

Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection Gel (Brilliant product)

Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner (Brilliant product)

Luxurious Lambs Wool Wash Mitt

Versa-Angle Tyre Brush (Brilliant product)

Triple Duty Detail Brush

Water Magnet Drying Towel (F'in Brilliant product)

Supreme Shine Microfire (3 pack)

Foam Applicator Pad (twin pack)

And Im going back to get some more bits with my voucher tomorrow lol

Big question is why finishing wax to go for

do i do the following

STEP 1 - Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner

STEP 2 - Deep Crystal Polish

STEP 3 - Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax

OR

Gold Glass wax??

I was an autoglym fan but not happy with the result on my black Leon...want more shine

if you allready have the Quik Detailer and Quick Clay you might as well just use stage 2 and 3 as the paint will be clean allready.

stage 3 gives a superb finnish and it smells good too  and a friend of mine has used it on a black car and the results where brilliant.

washed with meguiars NXT shampoo

then

STEP 3

easy as that mate,,, used some G10 in places where the paint had been oxidised and then used Step 3 over that,,, u can use scratch x instead of G10

STEP 1 - Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner

STEP 2 - Deep Crystal Polish

STEP 3 - Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax

Worth doing all three if the paint hasn't been treated that way.

It's a "system". Then use the step3 & shampoo to maintain it.

Well I've just washed, dried and polished mine in an hour and a half using:

Meguiars NXT shampoo

Meguiars Step 3 tech wax - comes off so easily!

Fekin amazing - sooooo much better than the gold class stuff.

Unbelievable shine on it now :)

Nice rec Furk'z - can't see any point in doing any more than the above 2 steps.

Right all this talk bout cleaning cars, I'm itching to get out there and spend some hours on mine. From reading this and the thread about removing swirls it seems I should do:

1. Meguiars NXT shampoo

2. Poorboys SSR2.5 (for removing swirls and hair line scratches)

3. Meguiars Step 3 - for a Furk'z style finish!

Sound about right?

Gotta say. I used claybar and then step 3 last year and was impressed. But last week I bought some deep gloss polish from Autoglym, ( the one with the black writing) and I was amazed how well she came up. Slapped a coat of stage 3 wax ontop and it is as close to perfect as its going to get this side of a respray.

Got a fiance mate, spending that much time on the car is more of a refuge than having nothing else to do! :)
